Project Life 2017: Week 41 (with a Studio Calico Promo Code)

Hello friends! I am back with another weekly pocket spread in my 6x12 album. I jumped to October this time because I found a good match between my photos and the November Documenter kit that I received from Studio Calico:
This is the second spread I made with this kit and if you compare the two (find the first one HERE), you will understand how I group my supplies by colors when working with a kit. Rather than mixing everything together, even though everything coordinates in a kit, I like to create my spreads with "sub groups" of colors. I hope that makes sense and that it can help someone who has trouble using colors.
If you look at the first one, I pulled the soft yellows, the pinks and a light touch of teal. For this second one, I concentrated on the navy and pink cards and elements.
I will usually stick to a maximum of three main colors. By using this method, I always (ok, almost always) end up with a cohesive look, even if the photos have a variety of colors in them.
Do you do the same when using kits? Do you have other tips to share with me regarding kits, colors and both? Leave them in the comments!
Finally, Studio Calico has offered me a promo code for my readers: if you are interested in starting a 6 or 12-month subscription, enter code AnounceofcreativityShares5 and you will get the first kit for only $5!

Small print: This offer can not be combined with other offers, and must be entered at check out. It is only valid this month and next and for the first month of a new subscription.

Do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions!

Happy crafting!
