My first traveller's notebook page (Kellie Stamps new release)

I am excited to share with you the start of this project today as it is my very first traveller's notebook (TN) spread! 

Last March, we went back to Anza-Borrego State Park for the "Superbloom" (I recently shared a mini album from a previous visit to the same place HERE) and I actually took my DSLR and shot lots of photos. We had to wake up before dawn to beat the crowds but it was all worth it!

I have been eyeing traveller's notebooks for a while and finally, thanks in part to the TN kit from Gossamer Blue, decided that it would be perfect for this little day trip. 

This first page features the latest release from Kellie Stamps Shop: the "Funday Week" set might be my favorite for this month (OK, the "Anzac Avenue" set is pretty fab too!)

I just used colored pencils to fill in the letters. The papers are from Crate Paper, the die-cuts are ancient from my stash, the black washi is from Fancy Pants and the mini flairs are from Feed Your Craft.

All my photos are printed and I will be sharing more pages as I complete them. It's a bit of a change of format for me but I have always found that change stimulates my creativity :)

Project Life: Back in June 2016...

So I went back to work on my 2016 album and I'm sharing today the second week of June. That concludes my summer pages. Now all I have left to do is November and parts of December, not too bad...

For this spread, I used three of the latest stamp sets by Kellie Stamps (released today): "Top Shop", "Seymour" and "Take a Number". Other supplies include papers, cards and bits from Gossamer Blue February Life Pages and Main kits as well as a mini flair from Feed Your Craft.

For my title card, I used the "Take A Number" stamps which are great for dates and I dusted my old Dymo to add the month sideways:

To add color, I made a couple of other cards out of patterned papers but my favorite is the one below made with the "Top Shop" stamps:

Because this was a big week for us (with family visiting and end of school year events), I repeated the word big over and over and then added a couple embellishments. I love the statement it makes in my spread.

Project Life: Yosemite (July 2016)

Hello friends! I was hesitant to share this latest pocket spread in my 6x12 album because I had to blur quite a few photos but since it is really a new favorite of mine, I decided to go ahead anyways...

I had fun making a "stash layout" as @retrohipmama defined recently on Instagram: a layout using just stuff from my own stash and not for any particular DT assignment :)

It covers a trip my son took to Yosemite in July with a bunch of his friends. Not only do I love the scenic photos but I love the fact that I was able to find a perfect use for one of my #100DayProject homemade PL cards! 

And how about that mini-flair from Feed Your Craft? Love! Here are the other supplies I used: journaling card, stamps, wood veneers and label from Scraptastic Club, clear sticker and die-cuts from Simple Stories, album (because I get asked a lot on Instagram) We R Memory Keepers, date stamp from Amy Tangerine.

A pocket letter for Marie

Hi there friends! I have a new pocket letter to share with you! I can't count the number of these I have made now but I find them very fun to make, especially when I have a specific recipient in mind ;) This one was sent to my friend Marie in Belgium (@mariefriant on IG).

I started with papers and acrylic embellishments from a year old scrapbooking kit by Scraptastic Club, then I dove into my stash to find more matching goodies, oh how I love this part!

I always try to include a good variety of items, like washi samples, die-cuts, enamel dots, tags, a quote and a tea bag. I also like to include homemade paper clips and some of my favorite mini-flairs from Feed Your Craft.

I often time add things outside, on top of the pockets. It can be a larger die-cut or a little stitched banner with the name of the recipient, anything that adds dimension or that can be manipulated/opened is fun.

There is no right or wrong way of making a pocket letter and you'll find so many different styles out there (just look up #pocketletters on Instagram and you'll see!). I have been lucky to receive a few from very talented ladies but I can not bring myself to actually use the goodies in them or take them apart :P I keep them as is for now because they inspire me!

Happy weekend friends! Today I have a special project to share: a 12x12 layout! It's been months since I created a layout! And a 12x12! What prompted this burst of inspiration, you ask? First, my favorite stash of mini-flairs from Feed Your Craft, second some Pink Paislee Fancy Free goodies I have been hoarding for the right photos and finally, the right photos from my son's graduation day :)

I used mini flairs from three different sets: "The best" from the Faves Mini flair set, "You did it!" from the Exclamations set and "Yay!" (which seems to be out of stock).

The rest of my supplies come from the Fancy Free Paige kit by Pink Paislee. I added texture by hand-stitching the die-cut heart and I love the result! I also added my own enamel dots and dark grey cardstock for the background. It makes the colors pop.

Those "mixed feelings" from my journaling? I still have them today... I am very proud of my eldest and wish him the best but so sad to be dropping him off to college tomorrow!!!  :(((((

Project Life: Week 15 (Feed Your Craft)

As you know if you are a regular here, I do my Project Life spreads weekly but I do not necessarily create them in order. So today, I have Week 15 (April 4th to the 10th) to share with you. Week 16 is a few posts below. For this week, I used cards from the Ali Edwards Day in The Life mini kit and several of my beloved Feed Your Craft mini flairs:

I added a tag indicating that it was the week of our Spring Break (which we spent mostly relaxing at home). I also added a few Heidi Swapp enamel dots and shapes for pops of color and dimension. Finally, one of my favorite ways to use my Feed Your Craft mini flairs is to stick them directly on top of photos. Here are some close-ups:

A Day in the Life™: March 29, 2016

Like many scrapbookers and memory keepers, I recently participated in Ali Edwards A Day in The Life by taking photos throughout the day on March 29, 2016. I then compiled those photos into one spread that will be added to my regular Project Life album.

I used several Feed Your Craft mini flairs from the Time of Day set which I love. They separate my journaling into morning and afternoon. On each photo I added a stamped label (Scraptastic Club) and the time it was taken (Ali Edwards stamp).

All the cards were made with scraps from an older Scraptastic kit (from November 2015) including the one below on which I stamped and wrote my title (American Crafts Roxie stamps):

One thing I have learned over the years is that nothing is permanent. Even though days can seem very long (especially with young children), everything will change. That is why it is important for me to record the routines of an ordinary day like this one. It is only ordinary at this point in our lives... Our routines in 1, 2, 5 or 10 years will be completely different! Well, especially since one of us will be moving on to college soon...

Project Life: Hello March!

Hello friends! I am here to share a new Project Life spread. This one covers the first week of March and showcases Feed Your Craft mini flairs:

I used a lot of bits and bobs from my stash but also cards and papers from past Scraptastic Club kits (This Life Noted and Card kits). The mini flairs come from three different sets and can be found in the Feed Your Craft Etsy shop. Elise offers a lot of options in black and white and I think they are my favorite! They make a nice statement but go with everything.

Now I have a question for you Project Lifers: do you prefer to put your mini flairs inside the pockets or on top of the page protector?

A Spring Pocket Letter

I created this new pocket letter for Lisa and now that I know it made it to its destination I'd like to share it all with you all :)

There is a mix of supplies including two pretty flairs from Feed Your Craft as you can see below:

I have also included wood veneers, die-cuts and embellishments from the new Fancy Free collection by Pink Paislee. They give a great Springy feel to the pockets. The rest, washi tapes, stamp, patterned papers, enamel butterflies, was pulled from my stash.

My 2016 Project Life cover page

Happy Monday! Tackling the cover page of a Project Life album is never easy but it is even less for someone like me who does it for the first time! At least it is only four pockets since my album is a 6x12 format :)

I wanted big numbers like I have seen others do so I created the 2016 card myself. I designed the two tone background in Picmonkey, printed it out on white card stock and then added really old chipboard numbers that I had previously inked in black. Yes, you can say I went hybrid! (insert big eyes emoticon! lol!)

I found two 3x4 Scraptastic cards that I really liked with my black and white photo and embellished one with a mini flair from the "B&W Ampersand/And set" by Feed Your Craft. I love it!

DIY: 2016 Desktop photo calendar

Hi there! It is that time of the year! If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I create an original photo calendar every year for my parents. Check under the "Paper projects" or "Tutorials" categories on the right hand side to see them. To this day, my 2011 Star desktop calendar is still the most popular post on this blog!

But I have never done the same one twice so here is a new 2016 desktop photo calendar! I will quickly explain how easy it is to put together if you choose to make one too!

This year's version was inspired by a set of monthly flairs by Feed Your Craft and some free printables I found on the Scrappystickyinkymess blog (thank you Mary Anne!)

What you will need:
a printer
3 sheets (8.5x11 or A4) white cardstock that you can put in your printer
one set of Month Mini Flair badges
various patterned papers (use scraps!)
a mini easel (I bought a pack of four at Michael's for less that $5)

1/ Print one of the 3x4 2016 calendar offered HERE on your white cardstock. You might notice that I printed a French version and Mary Anne also offers a version in Italian and in German!

2/ Select 12 square photos and print each at 2.25"x2.25" (I printed them all on a 8x10 piece of photo paper)

3/ Cut 12 pieces of patterned paper to 3"x3" and match them with each photo and monthly mini flair

4/ Cut each month according to the printed grey line (I cut the length a bit longer so each card is almost 5" tall) and adhere the patterned paper, the photo and the flair:
