Summer planner set up with Hey Cupcake! | Doodlebug Design

Happy June! I am very much looking forward to Summer days, light and breezy, maybe sitting on the patio with a lemonade in hand. It's with this sunny feeling that I decorated my planner using the just released Hey Cupcake! collection, plus All Occasion stamps and dies from Doodlebug Design.

I am using a Daily Doodles Travel Planner along with a blank Calendar insert. The paper quality is awesome for stamping and I like the monthly view.

Here is a peak at the early process for this spread. I started with stamping the dates using a small banner stamp from the All Occasions-Holiday set and numbers from the Calendar-Handwritten set and then I moved on to washi tape and stickers.

Next I added a heart trim from the All Occasion Borders and Edges die set and a couple of events with the All Occasion-Everyday and Holiday stamp sets. 

Even though it is geared towards birthdays, the Hey Cupcake! collection is proving to be perfect for much more than that. I am now ready to celebrate the warmer days and the end of the school year in the cutest possible way!

March planner pages with the All Occasion stamps from Doodlebug Design

Edited to add: I wrote this post for the Doodlebug Design blog before all the Covid-19 madness hit us. Since then I have had to make some adjustments in my planner but I still believe that planning your days helps tremendously when you're in confinement...

I had lost my planner-decorating mojo lately but as soon as I received the new All Occasion collection stamps I couldn't wait to jump back into it! The Holidays and Everyday sets are perfect for planners, not to mention the Calendar stamps!

They have tons of icons including some hard to find like Canada Day or Hanukkah. I paired the stamps with the Simply Spring collection to decorate my March monthly pages in a Doodlebug Travel Planner insert.

I have filmed part of my process so that you could see how I approached this spread. I was excited to find that the numbers from the Handwritten Calendar set fit perfectly into the tiny flag stamp from the Holidays set.

I followed by selecting icons from both the Holidays and Everyday sets to record events during the month. I love how cute they look! I finished with stickers, washi tapes, patterned papers and a Doodle Pop.

I love how Springy my pages ended up looking. A pretty planner is definitely more motivating!

June Planner Spread (with Doodlebug Design)

I haven't shared a planner spread in a while and since I recently decorated my June monthly view in my Doodlebug Design Daily Doodles planner, I thought I'd show it to you today:

I pulled my Simply Spring collection and it wasn't hard to turn a blank planner page into a cute spread with the Icons sticker sheet and some washi tapes. I had the idea of including a Summer quote in the top part with some Teensy alphabet stickers since the month of June only started on a Saturday and there was a big gap there. I love to see it every time I open my planner!

I added a bit of dimension with a few shaped sprinkles before starting to fill out my page writing my goals, reminders and a step challenge tracker. Of course it will be a lot fuller as the month progresses.

 I always finish up decorating with clips, jelly clips are favorites for planners but I also like Cute clips or matching clothespins:

February planner spread with Doodlebug Design French Kiss

I am still very much in love with the French Kiss collection from Doodlebug Design and, with it's Valentine's theme, it was perfect to decorate my February monthly spread in my Daily Doodles calendar insert!

 My first step was to use three colors of Teensy Type alphabet stickers for the dates and some Abigail alphabets (in Ladybug) for the month and year. I then played with lots of stickers from the Icons and the This & That sheets. I wrote some of my reminders directly in the boxes but sometimes I added little typed notes that I adhered with washi tape, totally inspired by my friend Jen's planner.

I created a column on the right for to dos and monthly goals with one of my favorite Doodle-Pops on top. I also paid extra attention to the 14th and placed a shaped on top of a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 pad.

My Christmas Planner (with Doodlebug Design)

I am excited to finally share my Daily Doodles travel planner with you which I had a lot of fun filling up with the new Christmas Town collection (both from Doodlebug Design)! I love the colors in this collection, especially the kraft base.

Since December is fast approaching I decided to organize myself in one of my Doodlebug planner inserts. I started by making a gift list and then had the idea to create a Holiday bucket list:

For the gift list, I made a table with a black marker (super easy thanks to the grid design!) with columns for names, ideas, done and w. for wrapped. I added the title with some Teensy Type alpha stickers in Ladybug and decorated the rest of the page with some Mini Icons and Icons stickers. 

For the candy cane border, I trimmed the side of the Mini Icons sheet. Oh, and don't forget to include your own wish list! :)

On the left page, I made a "bucket list" using more Mini Icons stickers to illustrate a list of things I want to do during the Holidays. For the title in the center, I combined a diecut from the Chit Chat pack with my own handwriting and a Santa sticker (also from the Mini Icons sheet). This was fun and now I am very much looking forward to December!

I feel so motivated thanks to my notebook and this new collection and I hope to have inspired you to get creative and productive as well!

Too cute to spook Planner spread

Happy October friends! It is the start of a new month so I am here to share my planner with you and how I have decorated my monthly calendar with the Pumpkin Party collection by Doodlebug Design. I mostly used stickers and washi tapes with a resulting "too cute to spook" spread:

I first went for the banner stickers which are, like most stickers on these pages, from the Pumpkin Party Icons sheet. They, right away, gave a festive look to my planner. I use my monthly spreads mostly for planning my design team work and social media posts so I color coded my assignments thanks to assorted stripe washi tapes, using a permanent marker to write directly on the tape. 

The nice thing about this technique is that you can easily move the piece of washi to another date or take it off if plans change. In addition to stickers, I also pulled a couple die-cuts from the Odds & Ends as well as the Chit Chat packs (the "Eek!" above, the fence below, the tree on the edge, plus the moon and the "Spooky" speech bubble on the left page). I can't get over the cuteness of the mice and cat below! It's all in the details right?

Additional supplies I have not mentioned yet:
- the 12x12 This & That sheet for the "Happy Halloween" and the wavy border stickers
- the Teensy alpha stickers in black to make my week off pop
- the Mini Icon stickers for one of the mice and the cake

An Out of this World Planner Page (with Doodlebug Design)

Summer is over and it's back to school time for many of us in the Northern hemisphere so in order to cheer myself up I decided to decorate my weekly planner with Doodlebug Design's new So Much Pun collection.

I have step by step pictures that will give you a glimpse into my process and maybe help you with yours:
While perusing the So Much Pun collection I thought an "Out of this World" theme would be fun and encouraging. My first step was to pull the coordinating die-cuts from the Odds&Ends pack and a couple more from the Chit Chat pack and arrange them on my spread.

Next came the washi tapes. I believe every planner spread needs washi tapes and Doodlebug Design makes the cutest ones! I used an assortment of scallop and stripe tapes but also the awesome Out of this World tape which brings great contrast and details to the page. I also felt like creating a big statement across the middle of the page so I spelled my title with the Abigail alpha stickers in Limeade:

Then it was time for the pen and the last finishing touches. I found a perfect quote that I wanted to include, I added daily to-do lists on the bottom tier and the most important things in the top tier, sometimes writing them on strips of washi to make them pop.

A last minute decision was to outline the limeade alphas with a black pen and I am glad I did. This page will fill up as the week goes on but it doesn't matter because I am loving how fun it is to open my planner right now!

Happy Summer planner spread (with Doodlebug Design)

The days are longer, the sun is out and it is the last week of school so of course I turned to the Sweet Summer collection to decorate my planner!

I first picked die-cuts from the Odds&Ends and the Chit Chat packs (they are so packed they're my favorites!). Don't hesitate to use large ones and cut them at the edges if necessary and also think about layering them: 

Once I have figured out my placements and before adhering them, I applied different washi tapes that complement their colors (from the stripe and scallop assortments plus the new "Playful Posies"). I also created a few "embellishments" by covering cardstock with "Beatle black Swiss dot" washi and punching half circles of different sizes.

I used a few stickers from the 12x12 This & That sheet and some Tropical Punch enamel shapes. In order to bring even more contrast and definition to my bright spread, I decided to outline in black some of the elements:

I finished by using a few alpha stickers (Teensy type in black and swimming pool, Abigail in black), writing a few things planned in different colors, and adding some checklists to fill with to dos during the week.

A Mother's Day Planner spread

The new Hello collection by Doodlebug Design is so pretty that I couldn't wait to prep my planner for next week with it, and it is absolutely perfect for a Mother's Day themed spread!

I first reached for the packed-to-the-brim Odds & Ends bag and, showing amazing restraint, selected just a few die-cuts. I also pulled pieces from the Chit Chat pack, a couple of teensy type alphabets, fancy frills sheets, shape sprinkles and mini icons stickers. Let's look at a few closeups:

Aren't the colors in this collection amazing?! Here, I paired the "Happy" from the Chit Chat pack with some teensy type alphas in bubblegum and underneath I added some adhesive rhinestones (also from the collection) on top of a die-cut bouquet to give it depth and shine. I love the result!

The adorable Doodle-Pops phone will remind me to call my mom! Did you notice the gold foil touches throughout these embellishments?

I didn't even mention the washi tapes or the Jelly Clips but they are probably my favorites ever! I fell in love with the navy floral washi below called "Garden Party" as soon as I first saw it! 

Hello is a very pretty and feminine collection that is perfect if you like to decorate your planners. Its many fun elements come in different scales so it works great for any size planner.
