Throwback Thursday: 5 years ago... 7 Wonders mini album

Since I have been admiring a lot of mini albums lately, I went back to the archives and found this: Almost to the day, 5 years ago I was making this mini album with a discarded baby boardbook and some Echo Park papers:

The subject was inspired by a challenge to scrap the 7 wonders of your world and I chose to pick 7 places in the world that I would like to visit. I also started each journaling sentence with "I wonder..."

UPDATE: I still love its simple design with the accent on color and I have yet to visit any of those 7 places ;) Where are you dreaming of going?

Throwback Thursday: Easter inspiration

I decided to gather up a bunch of past Easter projects, both on and off the page, in case you needed a little inspiration for Sunday :) Each title is the link to the original post:

and finally a pre-blog double pager, never before seen here!

Have a wonderful Easter if you celebrate it! Both of my boys have decided that they were too old for egg decorating and egg hunting... but I think the Easter bunny (or will it be "les cloches de Pâques") might surprise them anyway ;)

Throwback Thursday: 5 years ago...

Are you ready to travel back in time with me? :) I went back to March 2008, five years ago, and found this never published on this blog page of my now 6th grader:

I created the page in March 2008 but the photo was taken on his first day of Kindergarten! I still like it a lot, I don't feel like the patterned papers have aged, I love the color combo and design + I would totally use those acetate stars right now if I had more! What would I do to "update " it (which I won't)? Add a few more embellishments, find a way to accentuate the title a bit and add texture.

What were you creating in March 2008?

Throwback Thursday: 3 years ago...

It is always fun to see how your scrapbooking style evolves through time and today, after a quick search through my photos I found this page from October 24, 2010, exactly three years ago:

First thing I noticed was the black transparency, which tells me that I did this page for the Transparent Touches Kit club (long gone), my very first design team. Apart from the transparency, I think the design is still pretty modern and I could use it again... nowadays, I would most likely use a mix of alphas to make the title, add more layering especially behind the large photo and embellish a bit more… oh, and perhaps tilt one of the small photos to make the ensemble less rigid…
How about you, what were you up to creatively three years ago? If you'd like to play along with me and take a look back at your pages, please link me in the comment!

Throwback Thursday: 5 years ago...

Hello! I am currently working with my September Citrus Twist kit but since I cannot share any of it with you yet, I decided to look back... 5 years to the day... I didn't have a blog then so this project has never been shared here:

On August 29, 2008 I just finished this mini album created with oval coasters from our favorite restaurant and a Transparent Touches kit (my very first DT, now long gone) filled with Scenic Route papers... oh how I loved Scenic Route...
I still love this mini as it features 1st day of school photos of my oldest for each grade of elementary school. It reminds me that I should probably make one for my youngest too! :)

Throwback Thursday: 5 years ago...

On this day exactly five years ago I was recording my life in photos for Ali Edwards "Week in the Life" and as part of my day, I recorded what I was creating at the time:
Il y a exactement 5 ans jour pour jour, je photographiais ma table car je participais à "A Week in the Life" d'Ali Edwards. Et voici donc la page, inédite sur mon blog, que je créais "en ce temps là"!

...and here is the actual layout. Since it predates my blog, it has never been seen here before!

I can tell you that it follows a pagemaps sketch very closely and that I was very proud of my little transparency bubbles :)

All in all I still very much like it. I like the clean lines, the "sunburst" in the background and the extra large photo. I still love these colors too but today, 5 years later, I would probably add a bit more embellishments.

How about you, has your style changed much since 5 years ago? Do you still like your older pages? What were you making then?
