You are here (Pinterest inspired)

I just realized that I hadn't shared here this page created for a "Pinterest Monday" post on the Scraptastic Club blog a few days ago...
This was the inspiration piece (by LooseThreadDesign on Etsy):

What inspired me the most was the star shape and all the hand-stitching. I incorporated both on my page:
I used the October Riptide kit and add-on (both out of stock) as well as enamel dots from my stash. I hand stitched around the heart, around the banner piece and created five point stars using the Pretty Little Studio die-cut stars included in the kit as templates.

I am not on Pinterest as often as I used to (you can blame Instagram, again!) but I still love to look for inspiring pins so if you have some to share please let me know in the comments... Unless of course Instagram has taken you away as well! :) Have a wonderful weekend!

Pinterest inspired: framed initial and banner

Happy Monday! I am on the Scraptastic blog this morning with this new Pinterest inspired project and I went off the page this time!

Here's the beautiful inspiration piece:

"Fall" by Dan Hess (available as a print here)

I loved the bold statement of the tree in the center of the frame as well as the colors. I decided to create a gift for a friend of mine who had a baby girl a couple of months ago:

I used the Skinny love kit and add-on from Scraptastic Club as well as a just released new flair from Feed Your Craft. The wood frame and letter are from Michael's.

And speaking of Fall, we finally had a little taste of it yesterday with a cool and rainy day! A big change from the previous days weeks with 90 degrees weather!
Lastly, if the Fall painting triggers your creativity as well, make sure to share the result with me! :)

A bientôt!

Baby Love banner

Hello Friday! A quick stop to share a little Pinterest inspired gift that I just made for a friend expecting a baby boy in a few months: nathalie_lovebabybanner_SCjan2015
The banner and gift bag were created with the exclusive papers from the Scraptastic Club January Sweater Weather kit + add-on and inspired by this project by Pearl Lui that I had pinned a long long time ago! Everything was hand-cut with printed letters as templates.

Have a great weekend! I'll be back tomorrow with a new page from the same kits so make sure to stop by! ;)

Spooktacular Disney

Today is Pinterest Monday on the Scraptastic blog and another design team member and myself are sharing projects inspired on this adorable seasonal pin: (sorry we couldn't find the original source for it)

The first thing I did was create a color palette based on the image (via Pictaculous):
I then pulled the items from my Thriller kit and add-on that were close to the palette. Before I tell you more about it, here's the resulting page:

I might have invented a new technique while trying to "dirty" my background like in the original piece! I emptied the content of our household pencil sharpener on the card stock and then rubbed it with my fist until I got the desired look. Pretty close, right?

So I was inspired by the colors, by the background but also by the cute "critters" and even the spiderwebs in the corner (i used the Thriller stamp set for mine):
Now, about the Disney photos: they're not mine. Their owner is Louise from the UK who answered the photo call I launched last month. It was really fun for me to make this page for her. I will be sending it in the mail to her as well as a few treats, since it is almost Halloween ;) Thank you Louise for being willing to play along! I really enjoyed it and hope to do it again some other time.

Last note: the design of the page was inspired by this sketch from Pagemaps.

Thank you for stopping by! I have more Halloween projects to share during the rest of this week... so make sure to come back, OK? :)

Pinterest inspired: Birthday card with fusible beads

Hello! I am continuing on my new tradition of sharing a card on Sundays :) This one is Pinterest inspired. I have had this pin on my "One day I'll try this" board for a while (unfortunately the source doesn't show it anymore)...
Bonjour! J'avais cette image sur mon tableau "One day I'll try this" depuis un moment...

...and once I was able to locate the bucket of beads in my kid's room, I made a few of those cute cupcakes and used them to make a birthday card:
... et une fois les perles localisées dans la chambre de mon fils, j'ai fabriqué trois de ces cupcakes pour créer une carte d'anniversaire:

Supplies: 8 Days a Week kit from Scraptastic Club, circle punch, border punch and Perler beads

A very clean and simple look but with a fun twist, don't you think?

August 12 (Take Twelve challenge)

Happy day to you all! I have my Take Twelve page for August to share with you today (just before the 12th of September comes around, good reminder to take those photos!).
I used the September Scraptastic Club "Just Beachy" kit and selected 12 photos from that day, taken with my phone:

Bonjour à toutes! J'ai une nouvelle page pour le challenge Take Twelve à partager avec vous aujourd'hui. J'ai utilisé le kit de septembre "Just Beachy" de Scraptastic Club et sélectionné 12 photos prises le 12 août avec mon téléphone.

The design of my page was inspired by this layout by Meghann on my Pinterest board:
La mise en page est inspirée de cette page de Meghann:

The funny thing is that I can't link you to the bigger picture originally on twopeas because it is now out for publication! I loved it because of it's multiple photos and it's versatility.
Je ne peux malheureusement pas vous montrer d'image plus grande car l'originale qui était sur twopeas et maintenant "our for publication"!

Inspired by... Pinterest, yes, again!

If you are following me on Pinterest, you know that I have spent way too much time pinning things on my boards this weekend. One of those pins seemed so simple, I ran to my room to cut strips from some old magnets (advertising a pizza restaurant), add some washi tape and/or scraps of patterned papers and voila:

Thanks to this super quick project my fridge looks way cuter and I can add another pin to my "Done!" board :)

Inspired by... Pinterest

I have another card to share with you today and this one comes directly from a Pin on my Paper crafts board on Pinterest. It's on its way to one of Ginger's 2012 Mail Art Exchange participants :)

The original card was done by Mary for Kesi'Art.
Thank you for stopping by! I will be back tomorrow with my Month in Numbers!

Happy Father's Day with Burlap & Buttercups weekly challenge

A little early you might think? It's because I am hosting the weekly challenge today on the Burlap & Buttercups blog and my challenge is to create something masculine (of course it doesn't have to be for Father's day!) ~ You can find all the details and the prize here.
As an example I created this card, with the January kit (now sold out!!!), totally inspired by the little clothes hanger included in the kit and this card by Amber found via Pinterest:

Un peu en avance pour la Fête des Pères vous pensez? C'est parce que je vous propose un challenge "homme" aujourd'hui sur le blog de Burlap & Buttercups. Les détails sont par ici.
Mon exemple a été créé avec le kit de janvier (sold out!) qui comprenait un petit cintre qui m'a complètement donné envie de faire une carte comme celle-ci d'Amber (trouvée sur Pinterest, of course!)

The Pinterest Challenge

PS: Thank you all for your well wishes, I feel a lot better now and I'm actually on my way to a Zumba class this morning :)

Gifting: Gift card snow globes

Very much inspired by this find on Pinterest, I created two of these little snow globes for my son's teachers this year. It is an easy last minute gift, requiring minimal supplies, and Target has a perfect snowman gift card for this project.
~ and I guarantee you lots of ooohs and aaahs :) The teachers loved them!

Supplies: jam jars, glitter and mini ornament from Michael's, glue gun, water

Missing you

I have one last project created with the August kit from Burlap & Buttercups (still available here) and it is another card with a bit of pinterest inspiration ;) Have you created something as a result of a pin yet? I'd love to see!

J'aimerai voir! :)
