Hello friends! I am back today to share a new Month in Numbers page created with the November This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club:
I have had a few questions recently about how I put My Month in Numbers pages together, in terms of content. Before I give you my method, I will refer you to Julie Kirk, the creator of the Month in Numbers blog series and link party. She has already written a tutorial about "How to Record your Month in Numbers".
When I first started sharing my Month in Numbers more than 3 years ago, I would keep tab of certain things starting on the 1st of the month, like number of loads of laundry, number of miles driven, number of shows watched, etc... it is still fun but as time went on, I forgot about counting throughout the month and developed a looser/easier approach to the concept.
How do I gather content now?
The first thing I do is go through the photos I took throughout the month. I select a few that I want to use and come up with a way to summarize the event/story with a number:
Let's take for example the photo of the carved pumpkin above, I could write: 1: number of pumpkins we carved this year or $3.99: price of pumpkins this month or 12: number of trick-or-treaters that came to the door.... you'll often find several ways to tell a story with numbers.
Second step, I look at my planner/calendar and find other events I want to include, sometimes I will find a photo to go with them and sometimes I won't :
Let's take the bottom card with The X-Files photo. In that case, I started with the data I wanted to include (the fact that we have started watching the very first season) and found a photo online to illustrate my number. Finally, if I find events I want to include but no photos to go with them, I will simply add a line on a journaling card. Each of my Month in Numbers pages, have one of those cards filled with extra events without photos.
If I am still short on events or facts, I will also go through my emails or my texts from the month...
It is really a fun twist on memory keeping and I encourage you to give it a try, whether just on a one-time page (like I did HERE) or as part of your Project Life (or regular) albums.
You can check out all my previous pages under the Month in Numbers category.

My Month in Numbers: August 2015
Here we are, one more month of 2015 behind us... and here I am with a new "fake pocket page" to showcase my month in numbers:

I created this spread with the September This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club and the printable This Life Noted digital files (+ velum from my stash)
The highlights of this month are the time spent together close to home at the end of the summer, a quick getaway and going back to school.

My Month in Numbers: July 2015
Happy Monday to you! I am back with a new "fake pocket page" and numbers to summarize our lives during the month of July. It was a busy month full of travels: Boston, New Hampshire, Paris and the French countryside all in one month!
Of course I have tons more pictures to scrap but this allows me to give an overview of the month:

My Month in Numbers: May 2015
Happy Friday! I am here today with a new Month in Numbers page created with the (sold out) June This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club.
If you're new here, my Month in Numbers pages are "fake pocket pages" where i summarize our lives with numbers but adhere the cards on cardstock (two advantages: it can go back to back with a regular layout in my 12x12 album and I can configure the cards however I want):
As always, I pay attention to the color combo, the balance of cards with and without photos, plus dimension and textures. I loved the full pack of Citrus Bliss ephemera by Pink Paislee!
A few close ups:
A few close ups:
My journaling is printed on the cards by temporarily adhering them on copy paper (great use for washi tape!) and feeding them in my printer. The font I always use is Traveling Typewriter. The citrus theme reminds me of the gorgeous lemons we have been getting from our yard (even though I never mention them on the page).
Thank you for stopping by today! It's the last day of school for my kids so the air is filled with excitement (and relief for being done!) :) I wish you a sunny and crafty weekend!

My Month in Numbers: March 2015
Happy "International Scrapbooking Day" to you because if you stop by here, chances are you play with paper too! ;) I hope you'll take some time this weekend to create something! I know I will!
For today, I would like to share my new Month in Numbers page for March:

Supplies: Scraptastic Club April This Life Noted kit (still available for purchase HERE), background card stock from my stash
Here's a closeup:
First and foremost, I was completely drawn by the yellow cards in this kit! They look fabulous paired with gray and pastel elements. I also really like the vellum pieces that I used here and there. In the end everything mixes very well for a Spring page!
March was a pretty typical month with a few outings, with school, with family and with friends.

Oh and since the full reveal was yesterday, take a look at the new This Life Noted kit for this month:

My Month in Numbers: February 2015
Another month ended and another set of numbers were counted :) Here is my February Month in Numbers spread which I am also sharing on the Scraptastic blog today:
I used my latest This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club (the March kit still available HERE). Each month I concentrate on a combination of colors that I find attractive in the kit and this kit had awesome colors! I also loved the contrasting black elements. Here are some details:
"February" stamp included in the kit (with all the other month as well)
February went by fast, a lot of soccer playing happened and more Instagramming for me ;) I also received some exciting news from Pink Paislee!

My Month in Numbers: January 2015
I don't know why but I feel a bit behind on pretty much everything these days! Is it just me?
Today, I have my Month in Numbers page for January to show you. It was created with the February This life Noted kit from Scraptastic plus a few things from the Counting Stars main kit (sold out):
I went with all typed journaling this time but I still had a lot of fun with colors, machine stitching and a sprinkle of sequins and enamel dots :) Here's a close up:

January meant the end of the 1st semester for my kids, my first month taking a photo a day (on IG) and my second CHA! Sadly, it will also be remembered as the month of the horrifying attacks in France.

My Month in Numbers: December 2014
Wow, it's already the 1st of February? Then, it's definitely time for me to share my last Month in Numbers of 2014!
This page was created with the January This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club. The kit is sold out but the February kit was just revealed today so you might be able to get one!
I purposefully did not include anything Christmasy as that will be scrapped in other forms (probably just layouts this year) and we had a lot happening the rest of the month anyway!

Since this is the last page of 2014, I went and looked back at all my Month in Numbers pages for the year. I have missed a few months but I am so glad I kept going with this project! I have recorded fun details that would never have made it onto a scrapbook page. I guess I could very well just make monthly Project Life type pages but the number approach adds a twist to it and makes it more fun.... so in conclusion, I think we're on for 2015! :D

Being the 1st, it is also reveal day over at Scraptastic Club! Make sure to check out all the fantastic new kits! I had a hard time choosing but here's what I have coming for this month:

My Month in Numbers: November 2014
Hello! I just put together my photos and numbers from November and worked on a new Month in Numbers page:

I used my December This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic (now sold out) and decided to pair mostly black and white photos with the bright pink. That "Let your light shine" card was definitely a favorite!

Everything I used here is from the kit except for the background cardstock which is from my stash. As some of you already know, these are "fake pocket pages" = no special protectors needed, more flexibility when designing them AND easy to add to my regular albums ;)
A lot of achievements this month! Big and small :)

My Month in Numbers: October 2014
At the very end of the month I typically share my Month in Numbers pages. Here's my "fake pocket page" summarizing our month of October:
It is created with the Scraptastic November This Life Noted kit, their We Will Rock You stamp set and a couple of things from my stash.
Some details:
I always think about textures and dimension when building these spreads: I will use pop dots under certain elements (hard to see but the "ta-da" is elevated), use different materials such as metal (staples and flairs), wood veneer, velum, sequins and finally almost always include stitching (both by hand and machine).
With shorter daylight, we watch a little more TV so I included what shows we have started following again this month. October is also the month of Halloween so I shared our tradition of carved pumpkin and homemade costume ;)

My Month in Numbers: September 2014
It is the end of the month so I am back with another "fake pocket" page summarizing my September with numbers:

I used the fabulous October This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club (still available HERE) and a couple of items from previous TLN kits. I focused on a yellow/orange/grey combo while pulling items from the kit as they went well with my photos this month. Here are some details:
I cut two cards on the diagonal to create one title card and love the end result with the stitches:
The loved the Crate Paper Notes and Things rub-ons included in the kit and used many of them directly on photos (love doing that!) but also on journaling card like this one:
The kit has some clear star die-cuts (from Studio Calico) and I used one as a stitching template on this card. I then filled it with sequins:
September is always a beautiful month here so it's no wonder that outings are highlighted here. The rest is pretty much routine :)

My Month in Numbers: August 2014
Here is my "fake pocket page" summarizing the month of August using the sold out September This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club:

The stamped numbers were created with the We Will Rock You stamp set and the card stock comes from my stash. I tried to limit the colors to variations of red and teal with touches of black in order to give a cohesive look to the page. Also, I thought it was a pretty fun idea to cut a 3x4 card out of the sheet of red alpha stickers in the kit (see above on the bottom right corner).

August 2014 was split between France and home. It was part vacation and part back to school. I love the fact that there are so many photos of people on this month's page :)

My Month in Numbers: June 2014

and some details:
I put my title right on a veneer card. I was a bit nervous trimming it, rounding its corners and then stitching my letters on it but I can tell you that all of the above is possible :) I used the May This Life Noted stamp set (still available) to stamp the numbers, as I did for the past couple of months. I used several of the rub-ons included in the kit, applying them directly to a photo (love that "Let's be adventurers" one!), on a journaling card and on a veneer tag.
Supplies: Scraptastic Club July This Life Noted kit
June 2014 will be remembered as the end of elementary school for my youngest, the visit from my nephew and of course, the World Cup!

My Month in Numbers: May 2014
It's almost time to round up my numbers for June but I have recently finished my layout with my May numbers, here it is:
I used the (now sold out) June This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic as well as the (still available) May This Life Noted stamp set. The Thickers for my title card are from my stash. The red and yellow in this kit were perfect for a month full of heat records and major wild fires.
Some detail shots:
I went a little crazy with the hand stitching but what can I say, I love it! :)

April in Numbers
I am about to work on my May numbers (I always do it after the end of the month, in case more numbers show up during the last few days ;), but today I'd like to share with you my April in Numbers layout. As always created as a "fake" pocket page (no special page protectors required!) and using the This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic Club:

I loved the color palette in this kit and chose to use a lot of the peach + grey + light blue cards and embellishments. I quickly found that this soft combination could complement any photo!
Hopefully you'll be able to read most of my numbers by clicking on the main photo to enlarge it.

March in Numbers
I just looked back in my archives and found out that the last time I put my Month in Numbers on a page was back in October!!! That is way too long of a break! Let's remedy that with the help of the April Scraptastic Club This Life Noted kit (now sold out):
This turned out quite bold especially with my choice of pink cardstock for the background... seemed like a good idea with my numbers stamped in pink... Nevertheless, I am glad to be counting again with Miss Julie from Notes on Paper ;) I have actually just finished my April page today too, so I'll share that soon!

October in Numbers and Citrus Twist reveal!
Did you know that reveal day has moved up for Citrus Twist Kits? The kits are now revealed on the CTK blog and available for purchase from the website on the 5th of the month (instead of the 12th)... So hurry and grab one of the November beauties. Here's what I got this month:
Main kit "Darling"
and Embellishment kit "Pictures"
The main kit includes a page of journaling cards from the Carta Bella "Wildflower" collection and it totally inspired me to create my October in Numbers page using several of them:
Here you might see how I added a photo corner sticker as a "tab" to lift the photo of my boys because I added more numbers underneath (their height and weight at time of their check up):
