Elle's Studio December Reveal | The last days of 2019

 It's the last reveal of the year at Elle's Studio today and before I share all the new goodies at the bottom of my post, here is a look at my first project:

It is the last page of my 2019 album (anybody else struggles with first and last pages or is it just me?) and it documents the last few days of the year, including our long road trip back home and our New Year's Eve celebration.

I went with a yellow and pink color combo, which I love right now, with touches of black. I had fun with quite a bit of stamping using the new Good Times Banner Stamp, Parker Outline Number Stamp and the oldie but goodie Hazel Alphabet Stamp set.

Here are my top three must have add-ons for this month: 

1. The Puffy Asterisk Stickers: I love their unique shape and they add just the right amount of color

2. The Good Times Banner Stamp set: More asterisks (love the outline ones) and bold words are perfectly sized for pockets

3. The Gold Puffy Alphabet stickers: because you never have enough gold to document the Holiday festivities and it is look awesome with pink :)

9X12 Christmas pockets with an insert | for Elle's Studio

 Hello crafty friends! I'm here to share some pocket page inspiration with the November release from Elle's Studio. I used several favorites, like the fun Acrylic Christmas Light Bulbs (sold out!) and perfect Very Merry Chipboard stickers, to document part of December 2019 in my 9x12 family album. 

Supplies: November 2020 kit, Merry Printables, November labels, Autumn die cut tabs, Very Merry chipboard stickers, Merry and Bright wood veneer, December Wood Veneer, Acrylic Christmas Trees, Acrylic Christmas Light Bulbs, Holiday Baking stamp, Christmas Tabs stamp, Fa La La 6 x 8.5 Paper Stack

I added a 4x12 insert (cut from a bigger page protector) which allowed me to use the large Merry and Bright Wood veneer front and center. It looks fabulous paired with the Acrylic Christmas Light Bulbs. I repeated this great combination of acrylic and wood veneer on my title card as well. 

For both pockets, I hand stitched a garland string with black embroidery thread. I love the contrasting result!

Often, while I am working with a certain color combination, I check the Printables to see if any tags match my page. In this case I found two in the Merry Printables. 

I relied a lot on the Very Merry Chipboard stickers to embellish my photos but I also had fun with the stamps, especially the Christmas Tabs stamp along with the packed Autumn die cut tabs. I used them together in several spots selecting just the right tab color and the right word strip amongst the multitude of choices.

How are you documenting your December this year? I feel pressured/inspired to do a December Daily but I am still undecided. I know... it is already December!

Project Life: September 2019 (Pocket pages with Elle's Studio)

Hello friends! I am back today to share my latest pocket pages that I created with the January kit and extras from Elle's Studio. I am a bit behind in my 2019 album and decided to work on the month of September because I liked how the supplies worked with my photos:

Supplies: January Kit, I Adore You Stickers, Valentine Multi Color Puffy Alphabet Stickers, Little Moments Leatherette Stickers, You Are Loved Die Cuts, Wood Veneer Sweethearts, Wood Veneer Numbers, September Wood Veneer, Mini Dated Extras Stamp, January Labels, Mini Days of the Week Stamp (Free gift in January for subscribers!)

It was fairly easy to put together as I used all ready made cards from the kit. I tested two color combinations with the same kit: first blue and red but that overpowered my pictures too much so I preferred my second try with pink, teal and the addition of red accents.

To maintain the continuity of my album, I used a large September wood veneer on the top left photo and then proceeded to create a visual triangle of wood veneers with some Wood Veneer Numbers and a heart from the Wood Veneer Sweethearts pack.

I liked mixing both the Mini Dated Extras Stamp and Mini Days of the Week Stamp to fit the day and date right onto my card (above). I also like that the Mini Dated Extras Stamp has all the months written in full and that they are small enough to fit onto a label! (below)

One of my go-to ways of journaling is to create random lists of facts/events and I found a fun way to mark each one using the periods from the Valentine Multi Color Puffy Alphabet Stickers. They add an unexpected touch of colors.

One last "tip" before I go and play some more with my kit: the original card above comes with a big red heart printed on it to which I added a teal die cut from the You Are Loved Die Cuts but I stapled them both in a way that makes it look as if both were added to the background. I have used this technique with other types of tags, for example when a label is preprinted. I think it tricks the eye to think that there are several layers.

Elle's Studio September Reveal | Project Life: July 2019

Hello there! Today is reveal day over at Elle's Studio and I am excited to share these new pocket pages from my 9x12 year-long album with you:

With mostly outdoor photos, I first picked the green elements from the kit and then added a few things in the peachy pink giving my page a soft edge.

I love the acrylic add-on this month and used the words separately on different cards.

My other most favorite add-on is the Good Times stamp set! The fun doodled circles match some of the kit's cards and offer fun options to embellish your cards yourself, like I did below:

Elle's Studio August Reveal | Project Life: June 2019

It's reveal day at Elle's Studio today and I couldn't wait to share my June PL pages with you! This month's release has so many bright colors it was perfect for my Summery photos.

I had a lot of photos so I tried to keep the spread on the "cleaner" side not overdoing the embellishing and leaving some breathing room. I used a monthly wood veneer marker (not from this release) just like I have done for every month since the start of the year.

I have quite a bit of circle repetition thanks in part to the great new set of Back to School puffy stickers and the "Makes me Smile" big cork elements like the one below:

June was a pretty busy month with the end of the school year and all the celebrations related to it but we managed to spend a lot of time outdoors, going to our favorite spots and also exploring new ones right in our city.

Project Life: May 2019 (with Elle's Studio)

Here is the second project I created with the July kit and add-ons from Elle's Studio. It's a monthly double page in my regular 9x12 pocket album:

As I did with the previous months, I used a wood veneer month marker and typed my journaling on my manual typewriter. I chose a red/pink and teal color combination to match some of my photos and ephemera.

I used a couple of stamps from the Magical, the You are my Sunshine and the Mini dated sets, always with black ink to add contrast.

I enjoyed some of the prompts on the journaling cards in this kit, such as the To Do list above or the Random facts one below. Journaling in a list form is always easier!

Now that I have this overall view, it looks like our May was full of trying new restaurants and watching great shows! I encourage you to do both and then documenting them ;)

Elle's Studio June Reveal | Project Life: April 2019

It's the 10th = Reveal day in the Elle's Studio shop!🎉 I will share a preview of the offerings at the bottom of this post but before that I would like to show you my first project with the June goodies!

I put wood veneers front and center in this monthly spread for April placing the large ones in a visual triangle. I like the warmth and texture they bring to otherwise rather clean and simple pockets.

The color combination of primary colors, yellow and blue with touches of red, across both pages gives cohesion and makes the spread dynamic all thanks to the cards and a few die-cuts from the kit.

Elle's Studio May Reveal | Project Life: March 2019

Hello friends! Today is reveal day in the Elle's Studio shop and I have created another monthly spread for my family pocket album with the new kit (and some of the extras). I am loving the colors, as always, but also all the textured extras like the wood veneers and epoxy stickers!

The combo of coral and yellow from the quote tag below was my starting point and it went beautifully with my outdoor photos. It was blooming all around here in March so I had a lot of flowers and blue skies.

 I added a few decorative hand stitches around the sun but also to anchor the large "The good life" wood veneer below. I like how it replicates the pattern of the paper underneath it which is from the new Springtime 6x6 Paper pad:

 I added a couple more wood veneer pieces to create a visual triangle and you might notice another one with the yellow puffy alphabet stickers. These are not accidents but ways to get the eyes to travel across both pages.

Project Life: February 2019 (with Elle's Studio)

Hello friends! I went with a really bright and colorful palette for this new pocket spread to balance out the dark and tinted photos from a concert I went to (JT!:). My color combination was inspired by one of the tag from the new April kit. Can you guess which one?

I pulled all the elements from the kit and extras that matched the striped tag: die-cuts, tags, labels and puffy stickers. I loved the yellow touches so much I even cut a 4x6 tag in 2 to use it in two different spots.

I decided early on that I would use the Large Months of the Year wood veneers on each monthly spread in 2019. After placing the February one on top of a label for a pop of color, I created a visual triangle with a veneer heart and, one of my new favorites, the Love This wood veneer (both from the same pack). A mix of puffy stickers add extra dimension and texture to the spread. I positioned them so that they would help the eyes travel across the pockets.

I also continued recording details using numbers (as I did last month). It is a fun journaling trick especially for random tidbits. I used a tag from the new Pastel Labeled Journaling Tags pack, embellished it and stamped the numbers in red with the perfectly sized Hazel Alphabet stamp set.

It’s not often that I have really dark photos but when I do, I love to stamp directly on them in white ink (using Brilliance ink in Moonlight White) so I jumped on the chance with the new Wander set here. I am so happy with the result!
