Best ride ever (with Elle's Studio)

I created two pocket spreads with the June kit and extras from Elle's Studio and today I am here with the second one. It is a 6x12 layout that covers one day at the race track. The red, white and blue combo I found in the kit and the Magical Memories collection was perfect for this masculine subject :)

I built my own title right on a photo by mixing one of the acrylic words from the "Best friends" pack, an acetate heart from the Magical Memories collection and part of a phrase from the Magical Memories Phrase sticker sheet and I love the end result!

 I kept the whole spread fairly simple, creating just a couple more clusters of die-cuts, embellishments and stickers.

If you are ever thinking of doing laps in a super car (or offering the experience to someone like i did), I can recommend Exotics Racing (in Las Vegas and Southern California). It is worth it!

Project Life 2017: Week 33 with Doodlebug Design Simply Spring

I was inspired by the new Simply Spring collection by Doodlebug Design to scrapbook a family gathering for which I had several outdoor photos. Even though it is a Spring collection I liked how it matched my Summer shots so this 6x12 spread covers a week in France in the middle of August:

I concentrated on the yellow and green elements of the collection along with a few touches of blue. I found perfect die-cut words and shapes in the Chit Chat and Odds & Ends packs. In addition, I used several stickers from the This & That 12x12 sheet including a long scallop border that I placed directly on the edge of my page protector. I love the result!

As you can see, I also created an insert for extra photos and it was easy with an envelope from the Simply Spring Create-A-Card pack. I trimmed the envelope flap so you can understand right away that there are photos to pull out. I added my journaling typed on strips directly on top along with some leaves from the Garden Flowers craft kit. Of course, I measured the space left for photos after punching the holes! I heart Paris Pocket Page (with Doodlebug Design French Kiss)

Today, I would like to show you a pocket page I created with the new French Kiss collection by Doodlebug Design to record a one-day visit of Paris last Summer. Here it is in my 6x12" 2017 album:

I love the red, white and blue color combination in the collection and it looks so good with a touch of pink. The three patterned paper pockets were created with the 6x6 French Kiss paper pad and my title was made using a die-cut from the Chit Chat pack. It is a speech bubble but I cut it off to make it look more like one of the flowers from the paper:

I also added an enamel heart on top for more contrast. I bordered the bottom of the photos with my favorite new washi, the City of love washi tape. For the next pocket, I typed my journaling on light pink grid paper from the Floral-Graph 6x6 Petite Print pack, added a few shaped Sprinkles and a die-cut from the Odds&Ends pack.

Finally, to balance things out, I decorated one more pocket, for the right page, continuing with the floral theme and colors of the left side. I couldn't resist using a Tower of love Doodle-pop and I layered it over more die-cuts from the Odds&Ends pack:

On top of the pockets because it goes across, I added a sentiment cut from the 12x12 mon Amour sheet.
With all its French elements making a page about Paris with French Kiss was a no-brainer but if you just change up a couple of my die-cuts, you can make the same pocket pages about pretty much anything or anywhere! I'm thinking Mother's Day, 4th of July, a cute pet... or everyday adventures. Happy crafting!

Elle's Studio December Reveal | Project Life 2017: Week 52

Today is reveal day over at Elle's Studio and I can now share the first project I created with the December kit and extras. You can also check out all the new items at the bottom of the post.

These pages cover the last week of 2017 (I made it a short week reserving the 30th and the 31st for a special spread...). I did not make a December Daily or any type of special album for December last year, or the year before, opting to simply include the Holidays into my regular albums.  

As you can see, I chose to go with a monochromatic look adding black touches with puffy stickers and stamping for contrast. As I have written here before, sticking to one color is always a good option when your photos are busy or already include several colors. The puffy stickers and the cork embellishments are my favorite extras this month!

For stamping, I got out my Mini Dated set, which is probably my most used one, and the new Merry Moment set.

December Pockets with Christmas Town (Doodlebug Design)

Hello! I am here today to share with you how I have used Doodlebug Design's Christmas Town collection to make pocket pages in my 6x12 album. Whether you do it in the popular December album format or within your yearly album like I do, you will find that this collection is great to document the Holiday Season.

Once I had picked my photos for the week, I chose papers from the 6x6 Christmas Town paper pad to create 3x4 cards (the supplies are linked at the bottom of the post). I love the kraft touches in this collection so I included quite a bit of it in my spread.

I also found a great sticker on the 12x12 This & That sticker sheet to make my first statement:

After that, I just went through the Chit Chat and the Odds & Ends packs to select die-cuts that would work with my cards and photos. There's so many to choose from but I enjoy this process so much!

I adhered them with a bit of foam so that they have extra dimension. I added the journaling with my vintage typewriter on some Petite Print papers from the 6x6 Floral-Graph Rainbow pack.

For what is probably my favorite card, I found this tiny mouse sticker on the Icon sheet and paired it with a speech bubble from the Chit Chat pack and a couple Christmas Sprinkles. Isn't it the cutest?

My final touches were machine stitches here and there and a Holiday Cheer Jelly Clip:

Guest Designing for Studio Calico | Part 2

Hello friends! Here is the second and final project I have done this month with the November Studio Calico Documenter kit (which I got at no charge as a guest designer). This spread is cleaner and warmer than the first one and I love how cohesive it looks:

The colors and gold foil accent in the kit are perfect for this time of year. I loved the cork month which goes great with my outdoor photos and adds a nice texture.

The stamp set included in the kit inspired me to write my journaling as a "Currently" list.

If you are in the US, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Mine will be spent at home and will, just like above, include pumpkin pie :)

Elle's Studio November Reveal | Project Life 2017: Weeks 49 & 50

It's time for the November reveal at the Elle's Studio shop and that means I can share my first project with you :) I was very excited to see that the November kit and extras were perfect for documenting the month of December which I still needed to do for last year! This spread covers the first two weeks of the month, just when things were getting festive:

Supplies: November kit, Merry and Bright 6 x 6 paper stack, Hand Drawn Christmas acrylic hearts, Wood veneer snow globes, November stickers, Enjoying This Season phrase stickers, Jane alphabet stickers - red

One of my go-to techniques is to include a card that gathers all the colors used in the spread and that is what this title card does. On top of that, it has a darling pattern:

The date is written with the Jane stickers in red over a die-cut from the kit and the journaling area is emphasized with what must be my favorite embellishments this month, a wood veneer snow globe (they come in different sizes!).

That said, I believe the eye first goes to the green card which I enhanced by adding a triangle shaped piece of patterned paper from the brand new Merry & Bright paper stack:

I love the result, it looks like a banner. I also used a strip of paper from the same new stack to create the look of washi tape on the card below. It adds color to an otherwise monochromatic card but it also brings a touch of the pattern from the title card over to the right side of the spread:

Elle's Studio October Reveal (Project Life 2017: Week 44)

It's October 10th! Reveal day for Elle's Studio! So I can finally share my projects with you. I will start  with this pocket page featuring the October kit and extras and covering the week of Halloween last year:

Supplies: October kit, Puffy stars and dots stickers, Sweater Weather 6 x 6 papers, Thankful stamp, Autumn Fun stickers, Autumn shipping tags, Jane Alphabet Stickers in Black & in White, Black cardstock letter stickers

I really love the fact that the kit has both a Fall and Halloween vibe to it, just enough without being too "themy". I used one of the most decorative tags as my title card and added a few details to bring more texture to it. I am a big fan of the two-toned puffy dots! This title card also gave me the color combination for the rest of the spread.

Filling in the bubbles of this fun tag above with a few words was a short and nice way to tell the story of my kid deciding to switch instrument.

Finally, this last close up shows you how I have embellished my journaling spot using a die-cut from the kit, more puffy dots and hand stitching.
