Project Life: Week 44 and a door closes...

Welcome back! I have a new pocket page to share today. Here's Week 44:
It was created with the December This Life Noted kit by Scraptastic to which I added a couple of planner stickers (also from Scraptastic).
Even though this covers one week, all my photos are from the weekend but I don't mind. I added a fun "Good Things that Happened" list that was prompted by a similar list in my Passion Planner. I like it and hope to include more in future spreads.
Did you see the movie Doctor Strange? As you can see above, I highly recommend it :)

Now onto my door closing: I have decided to leave my position on the Design Team so this is actually my last project for Scraptastic Club.  It was not easy as I have a long history with this kit club and its owner Jessica. I have been on her team for more than four years! Jessica has always spoiled me and we have gone through a lot of changes together so, before I move on, I would like to send her and Jennie, her DT coordinator extraordinaire, my most heartfelt thank you for everything. I absolutely loved working with you both and I hope that our paths will cross again somewhere somehow! ❤️

Project Life: Week 42 and Week 43

Hello friends and thank you so much for sharing my excitement about yesterday's announcement! I am here today with a new PL spread from my 6x12 album.
I decided to work two weeks into this page (one on each side) because 1/ i didn't have very many photos or stories and 2/ it's easier to catch up that way... I like the fact that in the end this album might have two weeks bunched together or a whole spread just for one day... And knowing that this flexibility is open to me, I think that I will keep the same somewhat weekly format for 2017...
But first October 2016:
This page was created with the December This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic. I also used some stickers from the December Plan On It kit and a couple of wood veneers from my stash. I like how they add warmth to the spread.
I also brought out the sewing machine to add a bit of texture here and there.
I really like the colors in this kit and the fact they can be used for any time of year. I have another page in the works with this same kit that I hope to share with you soon!

Have a great weekend!

Project Life: Week 51

Happy New Year to all of you here today! I have not talked about my December documentation for 2016 before but I decided early on to include everything in my regular 6x12 PL album rather than do a separate December Daily this time. I have to say that in the end, it was a good decision. I was more relaxed during the Holidays and nothing felt forced. So with that said, here is the first week I recorded. It covers December 12th to the 18th... it is not very "Holidayish" but that is what I meant by "not being forced"...
I used the Christmas This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic and a couple of embellishments from my stash. Where I live, December is when we really see the signs of Fall, so I liked that the kit's colors went well with my photos.

For the large photo, I printed a 6x8 (at home) and just cut it in four. A little bit of stitching and whole lot of stapling and voila!
Thank you for stopping by! I will be back soon to share some very exciting news! :)

Project Life: Back to school!

Hello, I am back today to share two 6x12 pocket spreads created with the November This Life Noted kit (sold out). I know it is the Holiday season but so what, I am sure I am not the only one scrapping September in December! Am I right?

This first spread highlights one main event from mid-September, my oldest's move to college. I combined cards and embellishments from the November kit with a few older supplies (also from Scraptastic Club):
I used a soft palette due to all the black in my photos but I also added a few black touches such as the  puffy alphas and the small list die-cut.
Just as I write this post, I realize that I forgot to add the stitching that I wanted to do on the side of the tag! You'll have to imagine it and I'll have to go fix that! :)

The second spread actually covers two weeks (one on each side) which is something I have done before and will do again for times when photos/stories are too few.
It was easy to pull a great color combination that went well with my photos from the cards in this kit and I am totally in love, once again, with the exclusive puffy alphas (red this time)!
I embellished with a couple of stickers from my Plan On It kits (the stars and small banner) as well as  older Scraptastic stamps and labels. Labels are my favorite way to add dates... All the journaling was done by feeding my cards in the printer (Remington Noiseless is my go to font)

I think I will be able to finish September and maybe even October this week since I am now on break :) Thank you for stopping by! I always appreciate it!

Project Life: September, finally!

Hello! I am back today with a new spread which is another "stash" spread. I mixed supplies from different This Life Noted kits by Scraptastic and used a couple of planner stickers.

This is my second time putting these yellow puffy alphas directly on a photo. I love them and I was happy to see them in red in my next kit!

The two journaling cards with square photos + text were created with Picmonkey. If someone would like to know more about this process, just let me know in the comments.
I am just happy to have reached September in my album! It means I only have four more months to go :P I am not freaking out about catching up but I hope to get a bit more done during the Christmas break!

I recently shared my top posts of the year on Instagram and they are all related to pockets! Pocket pages, PL cards or pocket letters! 2016 was the year of the pocket for me... a big switch from the previous years...  What did 2016 mean for you creatively?

Project Life: way back when in August...

I know it's December 1st but I am still playing catch up in my 6x12 album and this spread doesn't really scream summer like my previous one. It covers our visit to the Large Particle Collider in Geneva and my grandfather's 90th birthday celebration... good times...
The supplies are from the Scraptastic Club October This Life Noted kit, various stickers and stamps from older kits and a mini flair from Feed Your Craft.
Since the photos were pretty busy and varied I stayed with a yellow and light grey color combo and left quite a bit of white space.

I really need to wrap up our Summer... if you are doing Project Life, are you all caught up? or are you hoping to at some point like I am? Also, since I took advantage of Cyber Monday sales to order multiple packs of 6x12 page protectors, it looks like I will continue with this format in the New Year. I think it fits me :)
What are your memory keeping plans for 2017?

Project Life: A picture perfect day

Happy Monday friends! I have a new 6x12 pocket spread to share with you today and it is a bit unusual as it covers just one day in my album full of weekly spreads. I just wanted to document a great summer day we spent kayaking while in France:
I found the right journaling cards and yellow alphas in my October This Life Noted kit from Scraptastic.
I also used a few elements from previous kits (stamps, label and enamel dots) as well as Plan On It stickers. And I once again did my journaling "à la Elise" from Feed Your Craft 💙

A spread full of family photos and scenic views makes me very happy:
Thank you for your visit! Have a wonderful week!

Project Life: Back to August! (Week 32)

I am jumping back to August in my 6x12 Project Life album! I hope not to confuse you but I figure most of you don't really care about the dates anyways! :)
To make matters even more confusing, I went back to August but I am still using the October This Life Noted kit by Scraptastic! My photos included a lot of outdoors and woods so the kit worked well with them:

And now the close ups:
Just like with the last kit, one of my favorite things to do is to add the exclusive puffy stickers directly on my photos and, just like on my last spread, I used a couple of planner stickers as well.
I love the way Elise (Feed Your Craft) often does her journaling on torn pieces of paper and this card above was totally inspired by it. I love the way it looks!

Thank you for stopping by!

Supplies: Scraptastic Club (October This Life Noted kit, enamel dots and heart from the September This Life Noted kit, Plan On It stickers), Tim Holtz mini stapler, Amy Tangerine date stamp

Project Life: let's jump to October!

So in my previous post I shared the last of my July pages and since I recently received the October This Life Noted kit (sold out), I decided to jump to October rather than go to August. I have no problem not scrapping in chronological order as long as the pages end up in the right order in the album...

I used three cards from the kit but also made one with the exclusive papers in the October Plan On It kit. In addition I used quite a few planner stickers from that kit. They often coordinate so why not!
I found that the planner stamp set was perfect for pocket scrapbooking as well!

Finally, I am giving away a large bundle of journaling cards and more on my Instagram account anounceofcreativity so make sure to stop by and enter! You have until midnight tonight!

Have a great week my friends!

Project Life: Weeks 29, 30 and 31 (Goodbye July!)

Hello! After taking a few deep breaths, I am back today to share a couple new spreads created mostly with the September This Life Noted kit but also some extras from older kits.
Here's Week 29 in my 6x12 album:
The exclusive puffy stickers from the kit have quickly become favorites! I love to add them directly on photos.
A good way to add interest to a card is to mix up word sources. Here I used acrylic, stamping and a sticker:
And yes, those cereal bars from Trader Joe's are delicious! :)
The next spread covers Week 30 and 31. I just did one week on each page because I didn't have much going on (= not enough photos!):
You might notice that I often put two 3x4 cards/photos in a 4x6 slot. If it is right behind a 4x6 photo, I simply adhere the two cards directly on the back of the photo. If it is right behind two other 3x4 cards I then use my Fuse tool to seal the middle of the pocket (making two pockets out of the one 4x6).
And here are a couple close-ups:
And that concludes July in my album!
Thank you for stopping by! As always, I am happy to answer questions here or on Instagram.

Project Life: Yosemite (July 2016)

Hello friends! I was hesitant to share this latest pocket spread in my 6x12 album because I had to blur quite a few photos but since it is really a new favorite of mine, I decided to go ahead anyways...

I had fun making a "stash layout" as @retrohipmama defined recently on Instagram: a layout using just stuff from my own stash and not for any particular DT assignment :)
It covers a trip my son took to Yosemite in July with a bunch of his friends. Not only do I love the scenic photos but I love the fact that I was able to find a perfect use for one of my #100DayProject homemade PL cards!

And how about that mini-flair from Feed Your Craft? Love! Here are the other supplies I used: journaling card, stamps, wood veneers and label from Scraptastic Club, clear sticker and die-cuts from Simple Stories, album (because I get asked a lot on Instagram) We R Memory Keepers, date stamp from Amy Tangerine.

I am finally done with July and will share more layouts in the coming weeks (I have a post scheduled on the Scraptastic Club blog on November 8th). Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

Project Life: Week 28

Happy Friday! I'm here today to share another spread for my Project Life 6x12 album. This is Week 28 which goes back to mid July. I used the (sold out) Scraptastic Club September This Life Noted kit and a couple of things from my stash.

No special trick, I kept it rather simple putting the accent on color.
But I do have one tip: Even though I work way behind I am able to add "Currently"/Right now facts because I make the efforts of writing such things down once in a while and date them for future use (especially useful when you have not taken a lot of photos or for quiet weeks). So the list above was written back in July and kept safely within my album until I got to work on this week.

Here's one more look:
Thank you for stopping by! I really appreciate it :)
Have a fabulous weekend!

A pocket letter for Marie

Hi there friends! I have a new pocket letter to share with you! I can't count the number of these I have made now but I find them very fun to make, especially when I have a specific recipient in mind ;) This one was sent to my friend Marie in Belgium (@mariefriant on IG).
I started with papers and acrylic embellishments from a year old scrapbooking kit by Scraptastic Club, then I dove into my stash to find more matching goodies, oh how I love this part!
I always try to include a good variety of items, like washi samples, die-cuts, enamel dots, tags, a quote and a tea bag. I also like to include homemade paper clips and some of my favorite mini-flairs from Feed Your Craft.
I often time add things outside, on top of the pockets. It can be a larger die-cut or a little stitched banner with the name of the recipient, anything that adds dimension or that can be manipulated/opened is fun.
There is no right or wrong way of making a pocket letter and you'll find so many different styles out there (just look up #pocketletters on Instagram and you'll see!). I have been lucky to receive a few from very talented ladies but I can not bring myself to actually use the goodies in them or take them apart :P I keep them as is for now because they inspire me!
Have you ever sent or received a pocket letter? What do you do with them?
