Cook/Make/Wish: August 2014

Here's a new edition of Cook/Make/Wish for August. I decided it was time since my last one dates back to February!

We still have nice barbecuing weather here so these favorite sliders will be on the menu this weekend. Plus they have the coolest name ever!

After seeing it on my friend April's Instagram feed, I have been making plans to hit the newly open Rita's and try their Gelati!

I wish we were not always so last minute then maybe we could have gone camping to Joshua Tree for the upcoming three day weekend...

Cook/Make/Wish: February 2014

I realized I had not shared a Cook/Make/Wish list for the past few months so here is a new one for February:

These Pesto Chicken Salad sandwiches have become my oldest son's favorites and since they are so easy to make, they are perfect for practice nights. They're delicious on square ciabatta rolls slightly toasted on the inside!

I pinned this a while ago into my "One day I'll try this" board and I finally did make liquid hand soap out of bars of soap, and a lot of it! Actually we are set for a few years I think! :P My concoction never thickened but the solution is to use it in foaming soap dispenser.

I really wish I had a Martha Stewart starburst punch... I am a little late on this as it appears to be no longer available :(

(I will start a Mr. Linky next month if I have enough participants)

Cook/Make/Wish: October 2013

I skipped last month but I am back today with a "homey" selection:

Since we have a grey and rainy day here, this wonderful Thai chicken noodle soup is what's for dinner. I omit the canned bean sprouts and serve it with Naan bread from Trader Joe's. Delicious!

I have bought the few supplies to make a table runner like this one… seems easy enough but I need to be courageous and start!

Finally, I wished so hard to find pillows just like this one seen on the Liz Marie blog but after driving around to three different TJ Maxx stores, I think it is time to give up on them…

How about you, what have you been cooking, making or wishing for?

Cook/Make/Wish: August 2013

A selection with a "back to school" vibe due to the fact that my kids just started school this week.

I am baking them those easy Nutella brownies as an after school treat. Last time I made them I wrote down to add chocolate chips (and to not overcook them!) so I made the adjustments.

I want to make a layout featuring this fun quote found on Pinterest (unfortunately, I don't have the original source). I even have the photos ready :)

Sigh... I wish this poster wasn't so darn pricey... ($56 + shipping for an 20"x14") because I love it....

Cook/Make/Wish: July 2013

That's what's for dinner tonight, al fresco on the patio: chicken cashew lettuce wraps (i use the exact recipe but add chopped red bell pepper for a little crunch). Everybody likes them!

I want to make a travel journal for an upcoming trip and this example by Ashley Cannon Newell is very inspiring to me. I even have an old book cover to use... do I really have room in the luggage though?

I wish I had a cool (and packable) sun hat... for that same upcoming trip ;)

Cook/Make/Wish: June 2013

Inspired by the upcoming 4th of July celebrations, I am planning to cook (ok it's not really cooking) these lovely looking kabobs. My fruit loving boy is going to get a kick out of that presentation!

I have been admiring several fabric stamping projects on Pinterest and I would like to spend an afternoon this week making this festive bunting. It would look great floating on our patio...

... And so would string of lights. I wish I could find some simple bulbs on strings. Any idea where to get some?

Cook/Make/Wish: May 2013

Here in the US we are celebrating Memorial Day (a three day weekend) which is often associated with barbecuing and is the "unofficial" start of Summer. This easy recipe is one of our favorites to do on the grill! I serve it with a big salad or couscous.

I really want to start working on cushions for our patio chairs so that we can enjoy them in the months to come. I pinned this tutorial a year ago so I need to make it happen this year!

Yesterday I totally wished I had one of those outside! I am too cheap frugal to buy them full price so I'll wait a bit!

Cook/Make/Wish: April 2013

With the warmer days approaching, I'm a bit obsessed with Greek salads at the moment. I want to make this one this weekend.

I never realized that wool dryer balls could save drying time + they're so pretty I want to make some with this DIY.

I wish this print wasn't so darn expensive because I could totally see it in our living room!
