6X12 Birthday pockets | Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine

This week Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine is celebrating its 14th birthday and I created this birthday pocket page to go with the theme. I just happened to have several birthday photos that were waiting to be scrapped so I pulled the fun SCT Delivered Make A Wish Card kit I used to make cards with last month and I will show you today how I've adapted it to create pocket pages.
Supplies: Make A Wish Card kit, Bazzill cardstock, Tim Holtz tiny attacher, WRMK album, Becky Higgins page protectors

Once my photos were placed, my whole spread started with this Yay Yay Yay card. Part of the Crate Paper die-cut pack included in the kit, it was just perfect for a 3x4 pocket. I added a few machine stitches and another die-cut on top rather than inside the page protector as it was crossing "the boundaries" of the pockets. I like how it breaks the lines.
For the title card, which is my favorite in the end, I created layers with several Crate Paper die-cuts on top of a tag and added a bit of stamping. The kit has both patterned papers and die-cuts from the Hooray collection so everything matches perfectly.
For the journaling, I kept it consistent throughout the spread by using typed paper strips.
This kit, still available on the SCT site, might say "Card kit" on the front but it is absolutely fabulous for documenting birthdays!
Make sure to visit the SCT blog for more Birthday inspiration and giveaways all week long!

Elle's Studio March Reveal | 6x12 Pocket pages

Today is an exciting day at Elle's Studio, it is the reveal of the March kit and extras! You can take a peek at all that entails at the bottom of my post but first I would like to share one of my new projects:
Supplies: March 2020 Kit, Wood Veneer Adventure Tags, Flourish 6 x 8.5 paper stack, Mini Dated Stamp set, Fuchsia Puffy Alphabet

For these pocket pages, I was waiting to find the right supplies to match the bold colors of the concert photos I had (top right). So I was very happy to find a fuchsia and teal combo in the March kit and the new "Flourish" paper stack. I later added touches of yellow creating a visual triangle that makes the eye travel across the pages.
Another set of elements that makes you look around is the repetition of the Wood Veneer Adventure Tags. I really like the texture and natural warmth they bring.
Now here's a look at this month's reveal:

My favorite part of this release? The non-traditional yellow touches in the kit and puffy alphas!

Pocket Pages 2018: Weeks 49 & 50 (with Elle's Studio)

I am happy to be back today to share a December pocket spread for my 6x12 album. I used Elle's Studio November kit with a few sheets from the Tis The Season Paper Stack, they match so perfectly, and some extra embellishments, also from the November release:

I am a big fan of textures and as always, this month's release offers a wonderful mix. As you can see here, I have used several puffy stickers, acrylics and wood veneers! They look so pretty next to each other!
And since you can not have enough textures in my book, I also added some hand stitching. Anytime I look at a decorative tag like the one below, I think "how can I make it mine?".
I was lucky to have on hand just the right color threads to make an ombré effect that matches the rest of the page. It's now the focus of my spread and I love it!
Apart from embellishing tags, another way to catch the focus is to make a statement with an enlarged photo:
This is a technique I don't use nearly enough but it was an obvious choice for my Christmas tree photo (which I printed in 6x8 inches). The fun Fa La La wood confetti add a festive touch and their size is perfect to add directly on photos.
Now that we seem to be in full December Daily prep season, I hope to have given you some ideas (even if this is not really a December Daily album).
For my readers in the US, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones.

Pocket Pages 2018: Weeks 41 and 42 (with Elle's Studio)

I have one more project to share with the October kit and extras from Elle's Studio. The colors, the puffy stickers, the stamps... I really enjoyed working with all of this release!

This 6x12 project life spread covers a couple of weeks from last year and even though there are 10 photos (!), I managed to add some fun embellishments and journaling.
For my title/date card, I used the new Winifred Alphabet stamp set for the numbers and my large Jane alphabet stamps and metal dies for the month. A couple puffy stickers and a die-cut add to the fun background.
You might see that despite a busy spread and limited space for embellishments, I still created several color based visual triangles with die-cuts, labels and puffy stickers. I believe they help the eye travel across the pages.
I hope to have inspired you in one way or another. If you are ever in San Diego in October, don't miss the Dia de los Muertos decorations in Old Town and if you are ever in downtown Los Angeles, visit The Last Bookstore!
Thank you for your visit!

Halloween Pocket pages with Doodlebug Candy Carnival

Hello, I am back today to share some pocket page inspiration with you and this time I am using the absolutely darling and not-so-spooky Halloween collection "Candy Carnival" by Doodlebug Design:
I used many elements from the collection but first I cut my cards mostly out of the 6x6 Candy Carnival paper pad and also the floral-graph petite print one (for the light purple journaling card). An exception is the "Oct. 31st" pocket which I will talk about later.
To embellish, I used a mix of stickers, die-cuts, Sprinkles, washi tapes and more, repeating clusters of stars to create eye movement and sticking to a pre-determined color palette.
Now back to my "Oct. 31st" pocket which is such a statement it plays the role of a title. I cut it out of the double-sided 12x12 Spooktacular sheet and then decided to add some texture to it by hand stitching over the frame with embroidery thread. I also added enamel dots (from the Eye See You pack) in each corner for even more impact. Don't you love the result?
Unfortunately for me, my kids are now too old for the Trick-or-Treating phase and the cute costumes but I found the Candy Carnival collection to be perfect to record everyday happenings and decor around Halloween time. I am saving the super cute elements to decorate treat bags, happy mail and my planner so stay tuned! ;)

Pocket pages with the I Heart Travel collection (Doodlebug Design)

Have you seen the new I ♡ Travel collection from Doodlebug Design? Travel collections are probably my favorites and this one, no surprise, is absolutely adorable! It's perfect to document your travels in pocket pages:
I created this page and insert to record the start of a recent trip in my family album. I made the cards using papers from the 6x6 I ♡ Travel pad along with a couple of tags from the Odds & Ends Tags pack. For my title card below, I combined the tag with a Doodle-pop (Jet set) and Teensy alpha stickers
The little passports from the Mini Icons sticker sheets illustrate our international travel. By placing them directly on the negative space of my photo, I added an eye-catching splash of color which enhance said photo. Aren't they the cutest together?
My journaling card features another sticker from the Mini Icons sheet and I placed it right in the center with foam adhesive. I like the look of the journaling (typewritten) all around it.
Whether you traveled near or far this Summer, don't wait to document it!

PS: Links are affiliate links to Scrapbook.com where you will find this collection on sale as I type this.
PPS: I can't tell who uses the links to shop but if you do or ever have, I thank you very much for your support!💖

Pocket Pages 2018: Back to School (with Elle's Studio)

To continue with the Back to School thing I have going on lately, I am sharing another project created with the August Elle's Studio kit and add-ons. I took advantage of the Back to School elements in this release to catch up on Week 35 and 36 of last year (when I was using a 6x12 album):
I had fun combining all the circle die-cuts from the kit in order to create my date card. I used my mini dated stamp set and different colored puffy alphabets (all from Elle's Studio) for an eye-catching result:
My other favorite card is the one below featuring a Back to School wood veneer (from the TGIF pack) and a couple of puffy stickers from the Back to School sticker pack. I love the mix of textures and the somewhat negative space in this busy looking spread.
Other than the puffy stickers and using yellow to unify everything (which was hard with those photos), I also used a few phrase stickers for repetition. They're neutral and add some contrast.
Now we are a week away from Back to School 2019 and I have very mixed emotions about it. I can't wait to resume our routine but this is the very last back to school for my baby boy! He is a Senior this year! 😭 Help me!

Happy birthday to me 6x12 Pocket spread (with Elle's Studio)

Hello! I am back today with one more project created with Elle's Studio February release. It is an event based spread, it only covers one day (my birthday) and was added into my regular PL album:
I know I probably say that every month but I love how colorful and bright this month's kit is! Even though it is a February kit, it worked perfectly with my Summer beach photos.
In addition to the kit itself, I used a couple of extra embellishments like some puffy stickers and acrylic stars. They are both easy ways to add different textures to a page. A couple of die-cuts from the kit and labels finish the spread.
What is your favorite way to celebrate your birthday? Have you documented your perfect birthday yet? If not, you should!
Below, you will find (affiliate) links to the supplies I used. You don't pay anything extra by using these links but I do get a very small percentage back from Elle's Studio.
Thank you for your support!

Pocket Pages 2018: Weeks 45 & 46 (with Elle's Studio)

Hello friends! I am back with another project created with the January release from Elle's Studio. I worked on documenting a couple of weeks from back in November, once again proving the versatility of those kits.
Just like I did with my greeting cards, I gave center stage to the acetate embellies. I used a lot of hearts on the cards and I used the stars for this spread (they're part of the same package). They are my favorites this month, along with the polka dot puffy alphas:
Here's another close up showing you how I used those acetate stars on a journaling cards:
Thank you for stopping by! These are (affiliate) links to the supplies in case you want to check them out:

Guest Designing for Studio Calico | Part 1

I was invited by Studio Calico to guest design with their November "Holland Park" Documenter kit (which was just revealed on the 1st and is now available for purchase) and I created two projects with it. This first one is a double page 6x12 pocket spread for my 2018 album:
I loved the colorful scallop design on two of the cards and used both as starting points for this page. For the one below, I added a die-cut which I had handstitched first for extra color and texture. I used the alpha stickers from the kit for my date and finished with a chipboard embellishment for dimension:
My next favorite was the quote card which I also hand-stitched (with the same embroidery thread color):
I typed all the journaling on my vintage typewriter, sometimes feeding the cards directly in the machine or on paper to create journaling strips. I added a bit more die-cuts and chipboard embellishments throughout but also did a bit of layering, especially on this last card:
Finally, I used a couple of the small stamps from the kit as seen above on the banner...  In the end, I like the fun feel of this "ordinary moments" spread. Don't hesitate to check out this month Gallery, I really enjoyed checking the work of the Design Team with this kit.

Thank you for stopping by! I will be back soon with project #2 :)

2018 Pocket Pages Weeks 29 & 30 (with Elle's Studio)

Hello friends! I've got more pocket pages to share with you today! This is how far I am in my album, the end of July, but I enjoy looking back at those relaxing days now that I am back at work :P
All the supplies used for this spread are from Elle's Studio, in particular their September kit and extras. You will find a full list at the bottom of the post.
Unlike in my previous spread which had the entire rainbow, this time I limited my color selection to three: blue, green and red. To keep within this color combo I supplemented the kit with a couple of printable tags from the New Season selection.
My title card features a beautiful new acrylic word mixed with Hazel and Jane alphabet stickers. It is also the only card where my three colors are present. Are you a fan of "The Crown"? My husband and I just finished Season 2 and we totally enjoyed it ("do sit down" :)
It seems that I can not make a spread without stamping now! I was delighted to see that the "Memories in the making" stamp from the Let's Relax set fit perfectly in a tag from the September kit and I used one of the circle stamps that I love so much (featured on my title card on the previous spread) just like a postal mark on the corner of a photo.
Supplies: September 2018 kit, New Season Printables, Hazel alphabet stickers, Jane alphabet stickers, September labels, Right Now stamp set, Let's Relax stamps, September label stickers, Story acrylic, Hand Drawn acrylic hearts

Thank you for stopping by! If you need more inspiration, check out the Elle's Studio blog. I always enjoy looking at what others did with the same supplies.

A bientôt!
