Holiday cards inspiration (with Elle's Studio)

I really enjoy making cards but during this time of year nobody has the time to go through their supplies, or the time to come up with a design. I am here to share two pretty cards that you can give or mail for the Holidays just by using the newly released December kit and a few extras available this month in the Elle's Studio shop. No digging required!
*A similar version of this post appeared on the Elle's Studio blog on 12/13/18.

I chose two patterned papers from the Merry & Bright Paper stack to use as my first layer on both cards and picked two tags from the kit to go on top. Here is a closer look at the first card:
I embellished the blue tag from the kit with one of the Acrylic Christmas trees, a couple die-cuts also from the kit and a puffy sticker which was perfect as a sentiment (from the new Everyday Puffy Label pack). As a last touch, I added a few machine stitches to accentuate the yellow and add texture. I love the depth that the transparency of the acrylic tree brings!
For this second card, I stamped and hand-cut numbers but also punched half circles from one of the tags in the kit:
After adhering my blue base, I placed the punched half circles on the edges and added some hand stitches with matching embroidery floss (totally optional if you’re in a hurry!). I put gold washi tape (from Doodlebug Design) on the top and bottom edges before adhering the “Hello New Year” tag with foam squares for extra dimension. I embellished with some small acrylic stars that come in the Acrylic Christmas tree pack. To finish, I added a tab (from the kit) tucked under the tag on which I typed “Best wishes!”. I like how festive this card turned out!
I am so glad I have those cards ready to go now!
Do you send Holiday cards? Do you make them yourself? I don't mail that many at all but actually send them with presents to my close family.
Happy Holidays my friends!

  1. Very nice! I love the blue and the absence of red (there's always such a lot of it this time of year!). And you've even found time for stitching - hats off to you!
