2021 Books (for Elle's Studio Sketch Day)

Hello friends, today I am sharing a post I wrote for the Elle's Studio blog (published today).

I created a traveler's notebook spread based on an adaptation of this great 12x12 layout sketch:

My pages document the (few) books I read in 2021 and feature several items from the January release including my new favorites, the Large Heart Jane alphabet and number stamps

Supplies: January 2022 Kit, Love Notes Die Cuts, Heart and Star Chipboard Stickers, Love Chipboard Stickers, Love You 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack, Warm Solids 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack, Large Heart Jane Alphabet Stamp, Large Heart Jane Number Stamp. Large Jane Alphabet Metal Die, Large Jane Number Metal Die

I made collages of the book covers and printed them as two photos. Their placement is similar to the sketch but in order to work in a TN format, I rotated the sides of the sketch, title and border,  to become the top and bottom.

The background papers are from the new Love You 6x8.5 Paper Stack and I selected them because of the colors in the book covers. I added a few layers with velum from my stash, a card from the January kit and a diecut from the Love Notes pack.
But I think that the "piece de resistance" is the title stamped on plain cardstock from the Warm Solids Paper Stack and cut using the matching metal dies.
I hope that you will feel inspired to grab your supplies and create something with this sketch, or maybe to grab a book instead! What were your favorite reads of 2021?

Cards with tags + sketches!

Hello, I wrote this post for the Elle's Studio blog but wanted to also share it with you here.

If you are a tag lover like I am, I hope that you grabbed the Cardstock Die Cut Tags and the Nesting Tags Metal Die in this month's release! I used both to create the set of greeting cards I am sharing today.

Supplies: July 2021 Kit, Cardstock Die Cut Tags, Adventure Chipboard Stickers, Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers - Neutrals, Acrylic Trees, Adventure 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack, Text Message Stamp, Nesting Tags Metal Die, Text Message Metal Die, Layered Card Metal Die

For this first card, I created a vertical design with two tags in opposite direction. One of them was cut out of white textured cardstock to let the Acrylic Trees stand out, the other is from the pack of Cardstock Die Cut Tags.

I loved the sentiment that came in the kit and it was a perfect match with the night sky paper from the Adventure 6 x 8.5 inch Paper Stack.

A few puffy stickers from the Tiny Shapes and Dots Puffy Stickers and a bow add extra texture.

My second card is pretty different even though its design is also centered around a tag from the Cardstock Die Cut Tags pack. This time I played with the new Text Message Stamp and matching Text Message Metal Die to create a belated birthday card.

The trick here was to stamp the text bubbles and emojis (lightly colored with pencils) first and feed the paper in my typewriter to type the text before die-cutting them. It was easy to create layers with the variety of patterns found in the Adventure Paper Stack and the Layered Card Metal Die.
This Text Message Stamp set is so much fun. I needed a birthday card but really, the possibilities for cards or for your pocket pages are endless!

If you feel inspired, below are sketches I created for those two cards.
Let me know if you end up using them! I'd love to see your versions!

First day and an exclusive sketch

Good morning and a warm welcome to my new followers! Today, I have a sketch and a new page to share with you. It features the not-yet-revealed November main kit from Citrus Twist (the kit will be fully revealed on the 12th) but I got the OK ;)
I designed this sketch for the weekly sketch challenge on the Citrus Twist blog. Hopefully some of you will have the time to play along for a chance to win a $5 gift card to the store (which has kits but also essentials, like glue and journaling pens...).

and here is my page on which I based the sketch:

I absolutely loved working with these bright colors and even though it is not a school themed kit, I ended up making two back to school pages with it! More on that after the 12th ;)
Travailler avec les couleurs vives de ce kit m'a beaucoup amusée et même s'il n'est pas spécifiquement pour ça, j'ai fini par faire deux pages de rentrée scolaire avec... à suivre aprés le 12 ;)
