Best of 2010! Bonne Année!

I wish you all, near and far, a very Happy New Year filled with joy, peace and good health!

As I did last year on this day, I have decided to look back and select 12 of my projects that best reflect what the year has meant for me in terms of crafting and scrapbooking:

Comme je l'ai fait il y a un an jour pour jour, j'ai décidé de regarder en arrière et de sélectionner 12 de mes projets qui résument bien mon année en termes de loisirs créatifs:

- I have continued to enjoy making pages, cards, a couple of mini albums and loved creating different paper projects such as gifts and home decor

- I am thrilled to still be part of the Transparent Touches Design Team

- I have been inspired by and participated in several challenge blogs for the first time

- I have continued to sew

- Some of my projects have been featured on several blogs that I admire and I have seen my name (and card) in print for the first time :)

I am looking forward to even more creative endeavors in the new year! Cheers!

... Merry Christmas to all! I hope you have a wonderful day surrounded by your loved ones! Here is the last layout I created with my December TTT kit. It is based on a sketch by Liz Chidester from The Scrappiest:

Gifting: Sugar cookie set

After seeing this idea here, I really wanted to make a sugar cookie gift set for my friend Theresa and her family. It includes a sugar cookie mix, a can of frosting and the card I showed you yesterday. Other than the ribbon and the brad, I had everything I needed in the TTT December kit!

Update: She loved it! :)

Here's a quick project, a card, created with the Christmas Delight collection from Little Yellow Bicycle (in Transparent Touches December kit#2). It goes with a gift that I will show you tomorrow!

The Magic of Christmas

As I sit here exhausted from all the running around that the season entails, I thought I would share with you a 6X12 page done with the Transparent Touches December kit #2. The pretty title is simply a sticker from the Little Yellow Bicycle collection (Christmas Delight) included in the kit and these old photos that I had never scrapped reminded me of the magical side of Christmas... which I have had to muster while circling the parking lot 5 times to find a spot at the mall!!! :P

Alors que je suis ici épuisée par toutes les activités et les courses de saison, j'ai voulu partager avec vous cette page au format 15X30 réalisée avec le kit #2 de décembre de Transparent Touches. Le joli titre est un simple sticker de la collection Christmas Delight de Little Yellow Bicycle incluse dans ce kit et ces vieilles photos que je n'avais jamais scrappées me rappelaient le côté vraiment magique de Noêl... Magie dont on a besoin de se souvenir quand on a fait cinq fois le tour du parking du centre commercial pour trouver une place!!! :P

My Advent calendar (December TTT reveal)

I have had this project in my mind for a while and I was anxiously waiting for my December kit from Transparent Touches to make it! Even my 13 yr. old was excited about it!!! All I used was scrapbooking papers, number stickers, an old book and twine. I included in each small cone a variety of chocolates and little notes good for other types of fun and treats (for example: "let's have hot chocolates with marshmallows today", "let's bake and decorate cookies", "look under your pillow" for a craft set, etc...) ~ the tree has been fully decorated since I took these photos and everybody decided to put them back on the tree, even empty. They look so cute with the rest of the decorations!

Supplies: Transparent Touches December kit #2, alpha stickers from various manufacturers, old book pages, twine, circle and scallop punches.

J'avais l'idée de ce projet depuis un petit moment et j'attendais avec impatience mon kit de décembre de Transparent Touches pour le réaliser! Même mon grand de 13 ans était emballé!!! J'ai uniquement utilisé des papiers de scrapbooking, des autocollants, un vieux livre et de la ficelle. J'ai mis dans chaque petit cornet des chocolats mais aussi des petits tickets avec "bon pour un chocolat chaud avec des shamallows", "regarde sous ton oreiller" pour une petite surprise, etc...) ~ le sapin a été décoré depuis que j'ai pris ces photos et tout le monde a décidé d'y remettre les petits cornets, même vides. C'est vrai qu'ils sont vraiment mignons avec toutes les autres décorations!

Gifting: Tea wreath

Handmade gifts are the best in my opinion and after discovering this tutorial on Kojodesigns, I had to make one for my tea loving friend, Felicia (I don't think she reads my blog so I can show it to you!). I found this unique idea to be very easy to make and I had almost all the supplies on hand. I tried to customize the colors to her interior so that she could hang it in her kitchen and refill it if she wishes to.

J'aime donner des cadeaux fait main et aprés avoir découvert ce tuto sur le blog Kojodesigns, il fallait absolument que j'en fasse une pour ma copine fan de thé. J'ai trouvé ce projet trés original et facile à réaliser (en plus j'avais presque tout sous la main!). J'ai tenté d'utiliser des couleurs qui aillent avec sa cuisine ainsi elle pourra l'y accrocher et remettre des sachets au fur et à mesure si elle le souhaite.

It was inspired by the Pagemaps sketch below which I transformed into an 8.5X11 format. You can see what the other DT members created with this sketch on the TTT blog.
