Here it is, the very last of my projects for Burlap & Buttercups. I have been doing very well with the Take 12 challenge so far and have enjoyed using my kits every month to put my pages together. These are my 12 Instagrams for Monday, March 12:
Have a great weekend! Bon week-end à toutes!

Your favorites at ten
As some of you already know, Rachel, the owner of Burlap&Buttercups kit club has announced that she is closing doors. I am so very sad about it as I always loved her kits. It was a real pleasure to work with her and to get to know her. I wish you the very best Rachel (and call me if you ever need a designer again!:)
Here is one of the last pages I did with the April kit and a bit of hand stitching:
It might be hard to see but the design for this page came to me after checking this ad on Paula's Gilarde's blog (put the ad sideways;). She posts a new ad every week and I recommend you check them out if you are in need of inspiration!
A bientôt!

Congratulations on your new arrival! C'est une fille!
Hello Monday! Today, I have to show you this little project I created for a sweet friend of mine who recently had a baby girl. I used my April Burlap & Buttercups kit and added SRM stickers to create a card and a matching mini album:
Bonjour!
I wish you all a great week! I think my first class at Paper Tales went very well with the biggest lesson of the day being to not use the Bind-It-All in class again...
Thank you for your kind words! They mean a lot!

My day in numbers
Here is the last page I created with my March Burlap & Buttercups kit. Inspired by My Month in Numbers (hosted by Julie Kirk in which I have been participating on the last day of every month), I decided to put a day in numbers and create a page about it. I cut up all the frames from the Amy Tangerine paper "Hanging Out" by American Crafts that was included in the kit and added a variety of number stickers:
Of course, I will be back tomorrow with my Month in Numbers for March! :)

My niece's baptism
How are you all doing? I am about to go outside and take a walk in the sun :) but before, I wanted to share with you another page I created with my March Burlap & Buttercups kit (including lots of Basic Grey goodies). I became my niece's godmother in August 2010 and this page shows just three of the many, many pictures that my kids took during the celebration:

Bonjour and Happy Spring! I created this page with the now sold out Burlap & Buttercups kit from March that was full of fun Amy Tan goodies (by American Crafts).
I wanted a background that hinted at the subject (bookselling) and pieced together vintage book pages and music sheet that I finger painted with some white Mister Huey spray. I will probably use that technique again because I love the result (even though it is pretty discreet here). You can click on the photo to read the journaling.
Bonjour!
The page is (loosely) based on a sketch by Mary Pat Siehl for our monthly sketch challenge on the B&B blog. Anybody can participate and the prize is pretty great this month! You can check it all out here!

Recycling challenge
Happy Friday to you all! Today, I am hosting the weekly challenge on the Burlap & Buttercups blog and here is the example I created for it. I used an egg carton that I painted and decorated using my March kit (now sold out!). Filled with chocolate eggs (minus one or two since the photo) it makes a fun Easter gift!
I hope to see some of you play along! The details on how to play and what you can win are here.

Tutorial: Sunburst state map (DIY home decor)
Happy Monday! Today, I will be sharing a tutorial I wrote last month for the Burlap & Buttercups blog. The kit I used is now sold out but the project can be done with any papers you like!
Bonjour!
***
I created this wall hanging after I fell in love with this print on Etsy and while I followed Julie Kirk's Month of Sunrays. I wanted to make my own version with the February kit and here is the result:
You can do it for any state (or country) and with any papers you like!
Supplies:
- 2 sheets of cardstock (one for the sunbursts, one for the background)
- 1 sheet of patterned paper
- 1 small scrap of paper for the heart
- a printer to print the map
- scissors or craft knife
- a pencil
- a ruler
- one pop dot
- a frame
1/ First, I found the outline of the state to California. The US50.com has printable outlines of all the states. I printed mine slightly smaller on printer paper so that it will fit into my matted frame (5x7), my map ended up being roughly 6.5x4 inches:
2/ Cut a heart (either by hand, with a punch or die-cutting machine) that will go where your city/home is then, with a pencil and a ruler, draw sunbursts starting from the heart. You might have to play a little with your design until you are happy with it:
3/ Cut out the whole state (I realize it will be easier for some state than others!):
4/ Then cut each individual sunburst (I was careful to put them back in their original order). Also notice that I didn't worry too much about the part under the heart as it will be covered by it in the end.
5/ Take each sunburst, one at a time, and temporarily glue them to the cardstock or the patterned paper (alternating them) in order to trace them and cut them (then discard the printer paper):
6/ Here they are, all cut out and placed back in their original spots on top of the cardstock I selected for my background:
7/ Glue them tightly close to each other to form the original map. Place the heart on a pop dot and adhere:
8/ Place in a frame and voila!
As always, if you give this tutorial a try and have any questions, I will be happy to answer them in the comment section. Have fun!

Necessary evil and the March B&B kit!
Here is the last page I created with my February Burlap & Buttercups kit. The title and subject were inspired by this page by Karen for the Daily Digi and the journaling reads: "After delaying it as long as I could I finally got glasses in Nov. 2010. It had become too hard for me to read the small print - Unfortunately now, I am totally dependent on them!"
and since it is the first of the month, the March kit has been revealed on the site! Make sure to order yours here!

Thursday, Jan.12 (the sweet details)
I am participating in the Take Twelve photo challenge from Ella Publishing and I have put together this page for my twelve January photos with my Burlap & Buttercups February kit:
The crochet lace paper from October Afternoon (B side of "Phonograph" from the Farmhouse collection) was my favorite in the kit and I ended up using it on 3 of my projects! The buttons, also from October Afternoon, were to die for as well!

Tutorial: Birthday book & Card holder all-in-one
Hello Monday! Last month I created this Birthday book + tutorial for Burlap & Buttercups and, even though the kit I used is now sold out, I wanted to share the tutorial with you here:
![]()
Hello lundi!
Supplies:
- a minimum of seven 12"x12" sheets of patterned paper
- sewing machine (or thin and strong double sided tape)
- seven 8.5"x11" sheets of light colored cardstock to print on
- printer
- the two following sticker sheets from Simple Stories Year-o-graphy line (included in the kit and add-on this month):
- alphas for the cover
- a binding machine+coils or rings
1/ First, you need to cut 12 pieces of paper measuring 5.75"wide by 12"tall:
2/ Score them all 4" from the bottom and fold over:
3/ Sew one side of each page to start creating a pocket,
the other side will be held closed by the binding:
(I guess an alternative would be to use thin strips of double-sided tape or even staples!)
4/ Click the following two links to view and print onto 8.5x11 sheets of plain cardstock the two .pdf files I created for you below:
5/ Cut along the dotted lines and adhere each month on each page (on the sides without pockets of course):
6/ Decorate each month with your stickers and leftovers from the kit
(advice: be careful that the number of days for each month is the correct one BEFORE applying the stickers!;):
7/ For the covers, cut two pieces of cardstock to 5.75" wide by 8"high.
To decorate the front, I used a strip of stripped patterned paper measuring 1.25"x8" and a main piece measuring 4.5x7.75, added slightly inked alphas, punched border and a sticker.
8/ I then used my Bind-It-All and 3/4" black coils to bind everything together. You now have a place to keep track of all the birthdays and a pocket behind each month to add cards and envelopes:
I hope you are feeling inspired and if you end up using this tutorial, I would love a link to your creations! I will answer any questions you might have in the comment section.
PS: You still have plenty of time to enter my kit giveaway here!
***
