I have been busy designing with the November Scrap For A Cure kit (I'll be showing sneaks shortly!) but in the meantime, I realized that I had not yet shared this card made with the September Scrapperie kit (using mostly the Dream Street Papers "Sam"). And I'll also take this chance to thank you, my readers! Your comments feed this blog and always motivate me! This is for you:

Ad Inspiration

I was debating whether to scrap or to post tonight but the Willow Traders weekend blog hop pushed me over the edge :) So here is a page I did recently with the September Scrapperie kit. Its design was inspired by one of 2peas Pub Ad Inspiration challenges.

J'hésitais entre le scrap ou le blog ce soir mais le Blog Hop de Willow Traders a fait pencher la balance alors voici une page toute récente réalisée avec le kit de septembre de Scrapperie. La mise en page est directement inspirée par un des Pub Ad Inspiration challenges sur 2peas (et si jamais vous êtes dans le coin de Los Angeles, je vous recommande vivement la visite du Getty Center, les jardins et les extérieurs vaillent vraiment le détour!)

Scrapperie September kit (Part one)

I recently got to design with the September Scrapperie kit "Country Club" (still available here) and it included very nice papers from Basic Grey (Archaic) and Dream Street Papers (Sam). I based the first page I made on this cool sketch by Jana Eubank:

I realize that this is the second "fishing" page in a row but my younger son has discovered fishing this summer and has become quite obsessed by it, and that's saying it mildly!

J'ai récemment eu la chance de recevoir le kit de Septembre "Country Club" de Scrapperie (encore disponible ici) et j'ai créé une première page basée sur un sketch de Jana Eubank. Je réalise que c'est la deuxième page sur le sujet de la pèche cette semaine mais il faut comprendre que mon garçon a découvert cette activité cet été et qu'il est complétement obnubilé par le sujet depuis! :)

Scrapperie's September kit was just revealed today and it is a very masculine kit called "Country Club". You can pre-order it here while it last. I am very excited because I get to design with the Trimmings and the Extras this month!!! Another reason to stalk my poor little mailman ;)

Here's a 6X12 done with Transparent Touches July kit #3 and very silly photos for the 52 weeks challenge. It is also the inspiration for my Thursday "Say The Word Challenge" on Scrapperie's message board. The word for this week is REMEMBER. Would love to have you join me!

Une petite page format 6X12 réalisée avec le kit #3 de juillet de Transparent Touches et des photos fofolles prises pour le challenge 52 weeks. C'est aussi mon exemple pour le challenge "Say the Word" que je viens de lancer sur le forum de Scrapperie. Le mot de la semaine est Remember (ou bien "penser à", "ne pas oublier de"). First I wanted to share with you sneaks of the third Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker collection to come out at CHA, Henry's Brilliance:

It should be in stores right in time for all those back to school photos we'll all be taking in a few weeks!

Another exciting news is that one of my little Nikki Sivils project will be featured in her catalog and at CHA! It is a first for me and I wish I could be there to see it in the booth with my own eyes!!!!

Beaucoup de nouvelles à partager avant notre long weekend du Independence Day!!!

A Month of color: Blue challenge

I altered a cookie tin to have a spot for my ever expanding collection of homemade cards and tags that had no real home until now. Again, supplies come from Scrapperie's June kit and it answers Shimelle's challenge to craft something blue for this Month of Colors.

J'ai décoré une boite de biscuits (de La Mère Poulard:) pour pouvoir ranger ma collection de cartes faites maison qui ne cesse de grandir. J'ai, là aussi, utilisé le kit de juin de Scrapperie et par la même occasion répondu au défi bleu de Shimelle pour son "Month of Colors".

Here's the last page I made with Scrapperie's June kit Salon de Thé and for Shimelle's Month of Color. It is also an example of how you can scrap a story that you really want the family to remember even though you don't have any photos of the event.

A month of color: Green challenge

Here is a page made with the June kit from Scrapperie and for the "green" challenge from Shimelle's ongoing Month of Colors. My other news is that I've already received a packed box full of goodies from Nikki Sivils! So excited to start creating with them! A month of color: My favorite color

I have been a fan of Shimelle for a while now and this month she is offering on her site "A Month of Colors". It consists of articles, challenges and a whole lot of inspiration that got me going. Here is the page I made for her Color Challenge #1: Scrapbook your favorite color. It is also one of my DT page made with Scrapperie's June kit "Salon de Thé" (which is available in very limited quantities here).

Cela fait un petit moment que je suis une fan de Shimelle et pendant le mois de juin, elle offre sur son site une série d'articles, de challenges et beaucoup d'inspiration sur les couleurs. Voici la page que j'ai réalisée pour son challenge #1 qui est de scrapper sa couleur favorite. C'est aussi une page de DT pour le kit de juin de Scrapperie "Salon de Thé" (qui est disponible en petite quantité ici).

I played a fun game at Scrapperie's crop this weekend called layout tag. I had to create a page inspired by the page of the player above me and it had to be done as fast as possible because my team was neck and neck against the other team. You might not know this yet but I am a really slow scrapper and so.... my team lost :(  Sorry ladies! But my favorite part was seeing all the pages at the end and the progression from one to the next.  And now that I took the time to look at my page, I feel like it needs something else, a little doodling perhaps?

J'ai participé pour la première fois à un jeu sympa à la crop de Scrapperie ce week-end. Il fallait s'inspirer d'une page de la coéquipière précédente et la faire le plus rapidement possible pour gagner. Vous ne le savez peut-être pas mais je suis une scrappeuse super lente donc.... mon équipe a perdu :( Désolée les filles!  Mais le meilleur est à la fin, quand toutes les pages sont partagées sur le site et que l'on voit la progression d'une page à l'autre.  Et maintenant que je prends un peu le temps de regarder la mienne, je trouve qui lui manque quelque chose... un peu de doodling peut-être?

I am very excited because this month is my turn to design with Scrapperie's kit! "Salon de Thé" is Sandi's June kit and it is available for purchase right now (here). She put together a great mix of colors and I can not wait to have it in my little hands to start scrapping!

Spring Into Summer Crop at Scrapperie

Another card for my Scrapperie challenge and a good book!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. Spring break is over for us and it was back to school and back to work yesterday... and today I feel pretty tired... maybe it is because I have been staying up way too late reading this book (in English). I was surprised, after looking for the French version to post here, at how different the covers and the titles were! They are translations (since the book was written in Swedish) and the French title is closer to the original one. In English it means: "The men who did not like women". Drastically different, isn't it?! I get a kick out of that kind of stuff, especially when you read the book and realize how the title skews your approach of the subject like that... Anyway, the book is a great read and I will definitely be looking for the second part of this trilogy very soon!

J'espère que vous avez passé de joyeuses Pâques. C'était la fin des vacances et le retour à l'école/au boulot hier... et ce soir, je me sens bien fatiguée... mais peut-être est-ce dû au fait que je me couche trop, trop tard ces temps çi à cause de ce livre. J'étais surprise, en cherchant la photo du livre dans les 2 langues, par la grande différence de couverture et de titre! C'est une traduction dans les 2 cas (puisque le livre a été écrit en suédois) mais le titre français est beaucoup plus proche de l'original. En anglais, il a été traduit par "La fille au tatouage de dragon". Intéressant, non? Surtout quand aprés avoir lu le livre on voit bien que le titre met l'accent sur deux choses trés différentes... bon je n'en dirai pas plus, sauf que c'est vraiment prenant et que je vais lire le suivant dans la trilogie!

Scrapperie card challenge

I am hosting the card challenge today and tomorrow on the Scrapperie message board and here is the card I made for today's. I used the last bits of a TTT kit from March 2007!!

Je suis chargée du défi "carte" d'aujourd'hui et de demain sur le forum de Scrapperie et voici donc la carte que j'ai réalisé pour aujourd'hui. J'ai utilisé mes derniers bouts d'un kit de TTT datant de mars 2007!!

3 Challenges in 1!

Here is a card I made for 2Sketches4U Sketch #23 AND for Scrapperie Snail Mail April 2nd challenge! I should also mention that I used one of the free downloads from Edwood Creations to make the tag. She recently added a brand new set worth checking out!

Mmmh, and why did I say 3 challenges in one? Well because making a card for a pre-teen boy is really not that easy! :P

Voici une carte que j'ai faite pour le Sketch #23 de 2Sketches4U ainsi que pour le défi du 2 Avril sur Scrapperie. Je dois aussi dire que j'ai téléchargé l'étiquette sur Edwood Creations (où d'ailleurs une nouvelle planche d'étiquettes vient de sortir).

Pourquoi ai-je parlé de 3 défis en un? Parce que créer une carte pour un pre-ado n'est pas chose facile! :P

Scrapperie Update

Yesterday was the start of a month long contest on the Scrapperie message board: "Snail Mail Soiree" is going to be a fun way to use up some stash with a month of card challenges (I have a pile of kit leftovers just for that purpose!). There is going to be a new card challenge every day of the month and also games + other things (including prizes of course!)... I will be playing AND hosting for a few days. Anybody can join at any time!

I will also share with you the April kits from Scrapperie which are shipping this week. According to Sandi, there are very few left (less than 5), so if you would like one, go order it now! I love the red/blue and green color combo of this month selections:

Un concours a commencé hier sur le forum de Scrapperie: "Snail Mail Soiree". Il s'agit d'un mois de challenges cartes. Il y aura un nouveau challenge par jour, des jeux ainsi que d'autres surprises (avec bien entendu des prix!). Voila un bon moyen d'utiliser les restes de kits que je mets de côté juste pour faire des cartes! Je vais y participer quand je peux et je vais aussi proposer quelques challenges dans le mois. Tout le monde peut y participer! Il suffit de s'inscrire au forum.

Je vous montre par la même occasion les kits du mois d'Avril dont il ne reste qu'une trés petite quantité (donc si ils vous intéressent, il faut passer votre commande au plus tôt!). J'aime beaucoup le mélange rouge/bleu/vert de ces papiers!

February scrap

It is pretty much the end of February and I love how the days are getting longer. Totally noticed it last night while driving the kids to fencing. Here are two pages I did this month for the Fantastic February contest at Scrapperie. 

This first one, "January 09", was for a scraplift challenge and I chose to lift "Most memorable August" by Allison Cope. It was a great way to recap all the events of the month.

"My favorite things" was a sketch challenge based on a double page sketch from the February 09 Pagemaps but I turned it into a 6X12. And by the way, if you live near a Trader Joe's, you HAVE to try those Metropolitan cookies!

I also made those two little Valentine's cards to play with my new Hero Arts stamps:

C'est pratiquement la fin du mois de février et je suis contente de voir que les jours se ralongent. J'ai vraiment constaté ça hier soir en conduisant les enfants à leur cours d'escrime. Voici deux pages que j'ai faites ce mois çi pour le concours "Fantastic February" de Scrapperie. La première, "January 09", est un lift d'une page d' Allison Cope. C'était un bon moyen de faire un récapitulatif des évènements du mois. La seconde, "Favorite Things", est basée sur un sketch double page de Pagemaps mais je l'ai transformé en format demi page (6X12). En parlant de choses favorites, goûtez absolument les "Metropolitan cookies" de chez Trader Joe's si vous le pouvez!

J'ai aussi réalisé deux petites cartes pour jouer avec mes nouveaux tampons Hero Arts!
